Happy 100th birthday hattie pannell

Hattie Pannell turned 100 on May 4. Friends and family gathered at Ft. Stevens Recreation Center in Northwest and sang Happy Birthday – Stevie Wonder-style – as Ms. Pannell danced. At 100, she still gets around and only uses a cane. A procession of cars wrapped around the corner to greet the birthday queen and present cards and gifts. (Shevry Lassiter/The Washington Informer)
