Worth the investment.
A college degree is one of the single most important ways to invest in yourself. You can expect a Whitworth education to open doors to fulfilling careers with higher pay and to build your network with lifelong friendships and professional connections. What you might not expect? The net price is remarkably affordable. We work hard to keep it that way so students from all socioeconomic backgrounds can access a Whitworth education and pursue their goals.

The community, people and extracurriculars are what I will always be most thankful for.
There is a fit for everyone no matter where you’re from or what you’re interested in.
Whitworth connected me with so many amazing people – I can’t imagine any other university being able to match the experience I had during my four years at Whitworth.

Whitworth is committed to providing the best education possible without cutting corners on facilities and programs. We choose to invest more in our students in the form of scholarships and grants and also in excellent professors, cutting-edge programs and state-of-the-art learning spaces.

WHAT IS THE COST OF ALL THIS EXCELLENCE?
It’s important to understand the difference between the sticker price and the actual cost you will pay to attend Whitworth.
Sticker Price: $64,620
Whitworth 2023-24 costs
Tuition & Fees $49,600
Housing & Meals $13,700
Although the sticker price is a big number, no student pays this amount. Thanks to our generous donors and large endowment, 100% OF OUR STUDENTS RECEIVE FINANCIAL AID.
Financial Resources
These resources significantly reduce what you will pay or help cover the cost of tuition:
Student Employment: About $4,200
Most Whitworth students are eligible to apply for on- or off-campus jobs. Student employment can help students pay for college expenses as they gain work experience. By working just 8-10 hours a week at the current minimum wage, students can earn over $4,200 per school year.
Actual Cost: Varies
The actual cost will vary depending on a student’s scholarships, grants and loans. These are all subtracted from the sticker price to determine actual cost.
Students and families are often surprised to learn how affordable a Whitworth education can be once considering the generous scholarships, grants, loan options and student employment opportunities available to our students.
Scholarships & Grants: $38,620 average
This is free money that students don’t pay back. The average scholarships and grants awarded to first-year students in 2022 was $38,620.
Loans: Up to $5,500
Up to $5,500 in federal student loans with great interest rates are offered to first-year students. Students don’t have to begin repaying them until six months after graduating from or leaving Whitworth.
Set yourself up for success.

Holly Helfrich, parent of Alexander ’22 and Andrew ’23“During my visit to Whitworth I had a one-on-one with a professor who said, ‘This isn’t about Whitworth or the degree you want. This is about who you are in your heart. Let’s talk about that.’ It was the first time touring schools that someone deeply cared about me as an individual and spent an hour talking about life advice.”

Weighing the cost of higher education is extremely important. Investing in a future of financial mobility and a lifetime of improved outcomes is important, too. Today, I have the privilege of setting aside a predetermined and comfortable amount of my paycheck every month to pay off my loans. I’m grateful to love the job that gives me that paycheck – a job that I’m in because of the skills and connections I built at Whitworth.
