Children under 12 years of age or anyone with a health condition that precludes them from wearing a mask remain exceptions.

The City of White Rock is committed to meeting the strict health and safety guidelines as set out by the Provincial Health Officer, WorkSafeBC and Fraser Health.

All programs and activities must be pre-registered and will follow strict guidelines to ensure the health and safety of both participants and staff. Facilities and programs will operate with reduced capacity and there will be increased frequency and cleaning of all high touch surfaces.

Grab a snack from a food cart along the promenade and enjoy a picnic at MEMORIAL PARK. Walk the 2.7km promenade and out to the end of the pier. A great way to exercise plus enjoy an outdoor art gallery along the way.

Explore the beach at low tide, build a sandcastle, fly a kite. Rent a paddleboard or skimboard from a vendor right at the beach.

All Sportball programs require a ball and hula hoop. Participants must bring their own, or purchase a Sportball Pack for $20.

Sportball Outdoor Parent and Tot Multisport 2 - 3 years This program is designed to guide parents and their children through the introductory skills of a variety of different ball sports. Games and skills are taught in a fun and creative manner by using story lines to encourage participation. All programs are non-competitive and focus on success while building confidence.

Join some of the best skimboarders who will share their years of experience to expand the interest of this rapidly growing sport. Lessons include everything from board maintenance to injury prevention.

Obstacles such as pipes, ramps and rails will be incorporated for those willing to push themselves to the max while others can perfect the art of flatland freestyle skimming. What is Jumpstart?

Jumpstart Charities help families overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities.

Kids 4-18 years can receive funding to help with program registration fees.

Which White Rock Recreation and Culture programs are eligible?

Programs should be a minimum of five weeks in duration and include at least one session per week. Sports camps must last at least five consecutive days for consideration.

How do I apply for Jumpstart funding?

Please visit the

Jumpstart website

for more information and to access the Jumpstart granting system.

The City of White Rock is no longer able to apply on behalf of our community members.

If you have not yet applied for funding in 2021, please click on the ‘Register’ button and enter in your family information. Once the registration process is complete you will have the ability to apply for funding.

Exercise to Prevent & Manage Chronic Disease and Diabetes

Physical activity and exercise are now considered principal interventions for ZOOM use in primary and secondary prevention of chronic diseases. This comprehensive program is conducted by Certified Clinical Rehab Specialist, Fred Kikhosrowkiany. Stability and Stretch

Perform a wide range of exercises using the ball and one’s own body weight to ZOOM activate the deep, most internal muscles of the body that help with balance. The class ends with a long stretching component and deep breathing exercises to lengthen muscles and relax the entire body.

Join long time local garden designer Teresa Klein of Gardens de Vine for a ZOOM virtual demonstration. Learn step-bystep how to choose, set up and plant your containers for greatest success.

Plant suggestions suited to a variety of needs, including light, level of maintenance, and purpose will be provided. Teresa will also discuss ideas for plantings that are not just striking but also edible, fragrant, good cut flowers or plants suitable for teas.
