Connie’s was created out of my love for cooking. It is a way to bring my culture into Australia by making delicious cocktails and South American tapas style street food. Cronulla it’s been the perfect place to do this as there is nothing like this in the area and people are excited to try new different things. I wanted to work with an all female at this stage cause the bars here in Cronulla have such a masculine influence that I thought it would be an amazing opportunity to give the girls a chance to jump on the cocktails. I feel very grateful for the amazing response that the bar has had so far and it’s all thanks to the amazing team that I have by myside, the girls have been definitely a key factor for success.

‘Peyote’, a type of cacti has been used as medicine throughout history and has psychedelic properties. Founder Chelsea has never tried these but has always grown them and this inspired her for the name. The brand has a strong native and tribal feel that I think is linked to the cacti and desert. This mixed with native australian wildlife and dried materials of our own outback give us the sense of what this local girl is creating.

“After I found this new found love for making necklaces from turkey tail mushrooms. I started making pieces out of crystals, shells and whatever I could get my hands on. I then learnt how to make rings and other pieces using a different technique. So originally my business was entirely based around making unique pieces with natural materials. Even though I no longer do that, I still try and incorporate nature into my silver work”
