ABOUT ME Isabella is a Melbourne-based designer entering the interior design field with a unique point of view; that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Her design style is committed to organic design and showcasing thoughtful minimalist aesthetics. Ultimately, Isabella strives to enhance the overall experience and purpose-led connection that individuals have with their spaces. Isabella has been exposed at an early age to an enormous array of design, concepts and styles in architecture, art and design that have influenced her passion for interior design. In 2022, Isabella started her interior design journey at Whitehouse where she has been able to dive deeper into more of a personal understanding of her values and passions of design. Highly influenced by fashion and nature, Isabella focuses on the use of organic materials and finishes throughout her work, allowing her to transform spaces into inspiring environments that not only reflect the personality and needs of her clients but also push the boundaries of design innovation.

Introduction
CONCEPT STATEMENT My interior design practice is rooted in the concept of Minimalistic Harmony, where the interplay of minimalism, natural elements, organic forms, simplicity, and uniqueness creates spaces that resonate with serenity and individuality. I believe that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and by stripping away unnecessary embellishments, we reveal the inherent beauty of the space and the materials within it. Drawing inspiration from nature, I seamlessly integrate organic elements, such as warm woods, natural stones, and lush greenery, to forge a harmonious connection between the interior and the natural world. Through careful curation and thoughtful consideration of each design element, Bufe studio will craft an unique and personalized residentail country residence that will reflect the client. With my focus on simplicity, I will create a space that evokes a sense of clarity and order, allowing occupants to experience a profound sense of calmness and wellbeing. My aim is to create environments that not only fulfill practical needs but also nurture the soul and awaken a deep connection to the beauty and authenticity of the natural world.
DESIGN STATEMENT Reflecting the heart of nature, The Bay is a beautiful residential country residence located in the centre of the Otway’s, Victoria, on a 350-acre private property. All concepts of The Bay ensure that external elements are represented within the home using natural materials and neutral colour ways that form a relationship back to the land. The brief was to reflect her client’s personal style by incorporating lots of natural light, organic forms, and an open floor plan to entertain. The Bay embodies the essence of simplicity and a deep connection with nature. This design encapsulates a vision for creating a calm and harmonious living space that seamlessly integrates with the natural beauty of its surroundings. This getaway home creates a tranquil and uncluttered environment, where every finish aims to delight and contributes to the unparalleled ambience. This minimalist approach will draw focus to the inherent beauty of the land’s surroundings.

Client: Prue Brown
Prue Brown is a remarkable woman who always has a smile on her face. Prue is a loving mother of two wonderful children and she and her husband are the proud owners of a picturesque farm and a beautifully designed home. Prue’s deep connection with nature is evident in every aspect of her life. Her farm is a testament to her dedication to preserving the natural beauty of the land. Prue’s commitment to her family and her love for nature and design have not only shaped her personal life but have also inspired those around her. Her children have grown up with a deep appreciation for nature and farming. Additionally, Prue spends lots of time with her friends and family entertaining.

Prue Brown relates perfectly to my area of interest which is designing a beautiful minimalistic farmhouse. Prue has grown up surrounded by nature and fashion. Her style aesthetic is minimal yet unique. Prue's style is a reflection of her interiors both at her home in Hawthorn and her farmhouse in Strath Creek. Her own home's interior is a very similar aesthetic to my own. The love for natural elements and minimalism is seen throughout her house. I love how much natural light has been incorporated into the design. I am also inspired by the way nature has been incorporated indoors. The love Prue has for nature is an interest of mine, due to my project being located on my own farm. It helps that Prue has a similar love for the outdoors as it makes sense for her to want to build another home in the countryside. The target demographic is a couple in their early 50s with two teenage kids and 3 crazy dogs. Overall, Prue is a perfect client as she has a reasonable budget, and her visual interior aesthetic is similar to mine.

SITE ‘The Bay’ is located on a private farm property of 380 acres located in Skenes Creek, only 5 minutes away from Apollo Bay. This beautiful property is surrounded by rainforests, large open paddocks, and a view of the ocean. The property owners have had this block of land for over 50 years. Being located directly off the Great Ocean Road, one of the biggest tourist attractions in Victoria, this property is located in one of the best parts of Victoria. Only being a 2-and-a-halfhour drive from the CBD, it is easily accessible for family and friends.

Case Study Adam Kane Architects has given new life to a run-down weatherboard cottage in coastal Barwon Heads, Victoria, transforming it into a contemporary home through the careful use of textural tones and a deep understanding of the sense of space. The use of neutral materials and furniture allows the interior space to convey a sense of calmness and serenity. Upon entering the home, the light interior is immediately present and carefully contrasted by new charcoal floorboards. Complementing the desaturated timber ceilings and joinery, slabs of silver travertine and burnished concrete floors are
supplemented with hand-scratched solid plaster walls, in a soft, warm ‘bone’ colour. Linen sheer curtains softly balance the space, creating comfort and a sense of welcoming. I have been inspired to incorporate this similar colour pallet into my residential farmhouse. Due to ‘The Bay” including multiple floor-toceiling windows, I want the focus to be on the beautiful surrounding landscapes. Therefore, this desaturated colour palette will allow for nature to complement the interiors.
Throughout this interior space, the interior designer has included a range of sustainable materials to meet the client's brief. Timber oak being the most environmentally friendly material currently available, it creates a clear connection to nature and the building's surroundings. The main stone within the space is a beautiful silver travertine which has been used in the kitchen and bathroom. By only using one style of natural stone within the overall build, it creates a seamless connection from the kitchen to the bathroom. As a natural stone, travertine is an environmentally friendly choice for building materials. It is a renewable resource
that is harvested sustainably, and its production process has a relatively low environmental impact compared to synthetic alternatives.
