Bio: Taisha-Mae Vitolo is a Welsh-born, Melbourne-based designer with a focus on a more classic and refined style. As a designer, her mission is to create garments that both
flatter and enhance the natural beauty of the female figure. Her aesthetic is a combination of sleek, elegance and sophistication with a flair for embellishments. Taisha-Mae believes that the greatest luxury anyone could have is the empowering feeling of being confident in your own skin.
Structured shoulders combined with figure-hugging silhouettes creates a seamless second skin on the body and allows the wearer to flaunt their figure in a tastefully while exuding their beauty and grace.
Statement Taisha-Mae Vitolo’s graduate collection is an ode to those who have experienced loss, pain, and grief in their lives. It’s a celebration of the journey we undertake as we learn to process and understand this new-found way of life and living with the marks that we are forever burdened with. When we go through something like this it can feel like everything has been brought to a complete stand-still, we are still able to pick ourselves up and grow and evolve with our past experiences helping to shape and mould the new direction our lives take. In order to heal, you must first accept and embrace the darkness and learn to see the beauty within. The collection is a representation of finding the beauty entangled within the wounds that have been left behind. With structured, powerful shoulders, the garments reflect how our past experiences can strengthen not only our minds, but also our resolve.
on bodies 1 and 2 taking colour cues from the Red Dragon. The colour pallet is simple, yet strong and bold as the collection consists mostly of a midnight black throughout with the addition of red and silver embellishments. By keeping the colour range minimal, the collection keeps to a more classic and simplistic taste.
This graduate collection utilises highly feminine silhouettes with figure hugging garments creating a second skin on the body. The fusion of slim-fitting garments and structured shoulders give the wearer an imposing and assertive auror, while also hinting at a more aggressive demeanour that is not commonly associated with femininity.
Hand-beading with the use of glass, crystal, and seed beads, is a staple part of the collection as it embodies the intricacies of human emotion and the fragility of life at the same time. The delicate nature of the red scintillating beading is a stark contrast to the anguish caused by the desolation of loss that it represents.
This collection incorporates aspects of Welsh culture and heritage as a nod to the designer’s background. The Welsh national flower, the Daffodill, features in the third body of the collection and the palette of the intricaate beading featuring
