Joining the legacy of the fashion house and their calibre of brand ambassadors is Lady Gaga for Dior’s new capsule collection, Denim Rêver for Spring/Summer 2022.

Being a pioneer for acceptance, Lady Gaga significantly aligns with Dior’s empowerment of femininity and active women under Maria Grazia Chiuri. Known for her Grammy award winning music career, in which she pioneered creating garments that excelled breaking fashion boundaries. Most notably Lady Gaga is known as a symbol of acceptance (significantly with the LGBTQI community) and women’s rights, as an advocate for sexual assault. Throughout her speech at the 2018 ELLE Women in Hollywood Celebration, Gaga spoke on the power of women and their voices. It is through her representation as a brand ambassador with Dior which both the brand and Lady Gaga come together to celebrate strong women and all things deinm.

The colour blue has maintained long serving ties with the House of Dior and is now an iconic colour associated with the brand.

Denim has become a staple fabric for the fashion house, transforming a seemingly everyday fabric into a luxury item.

Under Maria Grazia Chiuri many of Dior’s long-standing designs have been transformed into denim such as the iconic Bar Jacket and Palto Jacket, as well wrapping the Lady Dior Bag and Saddle Bag with a floral denim texture, revitalising their timeless designs.

Under Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s marketing of denim transforms the original workwear garment into one of luxury, as seen in Dior recent Spring/Summer 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection. Styling denim pieces with silk headscarfs, berets, gold accent jewlery and beautiful Dior bags, revolutionising denim and its relatinship with all things luxury.

ith a long-standing history surrounding Dior’s legacy and the role Christian Dior played in revolutionizing womens fashion, perhaps one of the most iconic symbols of the brand are its bags. From the iconic Saddle Bag and the Lady Dior to the Dior Montaigne and the Tote Bag, Dior bags hold a special place within design history.

Dior’s Saddle Bag has become a staple design within Dior’s history. Introduced to the brand in 1999 by John Galliano, Galliano produced a high-end equestrian shaped bag, made out of denim with Dior monogram print and detailed with gold hardware, propelling the bag into fashion limelight.

Following Galliano’s designs, the Saddle Bag has stayed to serve within Dior’s most recognisable products, transforming the iconic bag with various prints, monograms and textures with every collection.

Gifted to Princess Diana when she visited Paris in 1995, The Lady Dior Bag is recognisable for its structure, iconic quilting and hanging hardware.

Previously known as the ChouChou bag, the bags name was formerly changed following Princess Diana’s tragic death, catapulting the bag globally as a popular item in a variety of colour ways and prints.

ior is enticing customers into their stores with their new denim collection Denim Rêver, landing within stores and online in Spring/Summer 2022.

The French fashion house is launching a series of accessories which allow customers to customise and accesories their Dior Bags. The collection showcases Dior’s brand ambassador Lady Gaga, with handcrafted denim accessories as a perfect pair with any Dior bag, creating on-the-go items which would be found in any Dior bag. Detailed with the exclusive denim print of the Denim Rêver collection and chic gold hardwarde, Dior has created a timeless collection

which celebrates the material denim.

Within the collection the fashion house have included a luxe denim circular coin purse detailed with gold hardware, carrying the same design aesthetic within their Airpods denim case with a custom gold chain to attach to any Dior bag. Futher, Dior has created a signature monogramed denim mask, paired with the a custom Iphone case detailed with the iconic print.

The versatility of Dior’s newest accessories allows customers to extend themselves within Dior’s exclusive collection, owning unique and creative pieces which celebrate Dior’s relationship and history with the beloved material denim!

At the heart of Christian Dior is a strong leading female for the brand, Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Embracing feminism and showcasing female strength throughout the House of Dior has been a major theme throughout Chiuri’s work within the House. Most notably, Chiuri’s time with Dior has redefined the brand’s relationship with denim, rebranding the everyday material as a luxurious piece of designer-wear. Denim has always been represented throughout Chiuri’s work, evidently in her Spring/ Summer 2021 collection, creating chic designs out of the material in garments, bags and accessories,

“but in a Dior couture way. If I take a flight, I don’t wear a skirt. I prefer denim pants and a ‘Bar’ jacket, super-light.”

THE

French fashion designer, Christian Dior established the fashion house in 1946. Christian Dior was the first to create a luxury ready-towear fashion house , placing France on the map as one of the greatest producers of fashion design and Haute Couture.

Reintroducing femininity and the joy of fashion into a postwar world, Dior’s creations revolutionised women’s fashion.

Christian Dior’s creation of the Bar jacket was a revolutionary piece within his first collection in 1947.

The dress was a first of its kind, shaping the silhouette of a woman’s body.

Dior’s design significantly juxtaposed traditional norms of women’s fashion, ultimatley revolutionising femininity within fashion.

In doing so, Christian Dior placed Paris at the forefront for fashion, propelling the Haus of Dior’s reputation to one of prestige and influence.
