THE CLIENT: Études Brand:
Études is a Paris-based brand that expresses itself through various types of media—ranging from men’s and women’s fashion, all the way over to book publishing. By occasioning collaborations between talents from diverse, artistic backgrounds, Études enacts both as a driving force and reflection of the contemporary landscape. Its vision is the result of an everevolving union between cultures, methods and references.
Founders:
Initially coined by the creative collaboration between Jérémie Egry and Aurélien Arbet, Études was born at last in 2012 with the arrival of José Lamali. Situated at first in Paris and New York, the founding trio has enriched the brand’s identity ever since its conception by continuously inviting new talents to join along the way—calling into life a trans-disciplinary collective.
Paris Boutique
Located on Rue Debelleyme—Paris’ central Marais— and surrounded by art galleries, the shop gives the word ‘studio’ three different allocations: while enacting as a space to present the collections, publications and self-initiated projects, it furthermore functions as a physical extension to the brand’s creative studio. With its minimalistic, rigorous design and sober nuances, the home of Études’ was designed to appropriately house the contributions of its guest artists; thereby evoking the very same
Fashion:
Études’ multidisciplinary vision is reflected in the biannual collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear. Composed of essential silhouettes, the brand is especially recognized for its graphic elements (such as the Blue Klein, and the adoption of the twelve iconic stars from the European flag), as well as the diverse references to street culture and modernist design. While echoing the creative editions between the brand and its favorite artists, Études’ straightforward voice aims to communicate culturally-devoted messages.
Creative Studio:
Primarily focused on its clothing and accessories collections, Études also operates in book publishing and creative direction; at all times, faithful to its original aesthetic driven by art, photography and urban culture.
