Four Seasons Hotels and Resort is a Canadian-based company. For over 60 years of experience in the hospitality industry, they strive for the best and highest standards for their happy clients. They personalise and redefine luxury and commit to a genuine care and excellence. In 1990-1999, Four Seasons expanded worldwide with a significant number of destinations across Europe and Asia.

In 2008 Four Seasons opened its doors on Mauritius Island located on the East side of the island, Coastal Road, Beau Champ.

The site is surrounded by fragrant flora with lush green vegetation as it is lapped by turquoise water and dramatic views everywhere you turn. The site is a haven of tranquillity with all the island’s essential facilities at close range.

They have requested to redesign one of their centered villas in the Anahita Resort, into a commercial space to create an impression that will last. The site is a 772sqm with a height of 4200m, two-story villa that will be turned into a restaurant, where users can enjoy their cold beverages on a sunny bright day close by the beach and have a memorable experience watching the sunset.

DESIGN CONCEPT

04 L’été Restaurant is based on a concept inspired by the island’s tropicals. The site is perched on the edge of Mauritius Island in a secluded location on the East Coast.

The project sits on a personal scale as it tells a story of where I was born and raised.

L’été is a two-story high building with views of the ocean and greenery on all sides. The beautiful scenery continues indoors, giving a sense of cohesiveness as though the users are dining with an experience surrounded by the beauty of nature. As the name suggests, L’été is a representation of a vacation spot during a bright Summer day at the beach.

The use of a soft earthy colour scheme with a hint of blues and greens for the final touches are seen throughout the entire space, enhancing the already large scale of the site. A selection of light and textured furniture to complement the wall and flooring materials and a long continuous glass ceiling feature that extends throughout both floors, making the space feel alive.
