Karina Morgan-Davey
Karina’s design philosophy derives from her textile innovation, hand drawn prints and an eye for ornate detail. Influenced by her background in fine art, she approaches texture, colour, and shape with an artist’s eye, translating artistic principles into contemporary textile and fashion design. She is driven by a deep passion for ornamentation, drawing inspiration from the richness of detail and the expressive power of colour. She is committed to crafting work that balances artistry with precision, transforming delicate details into bold, vibrant designs that celebrate both craftsmanship and imagination.

Design Statement
This collection celebrates Karina’s passion for handcrafted textiles, with a strong focus on the tactile qualities of brushed yarn. The collection incorporates a range of artisanal techniques, including the fauxfur texture created by brushed yarn, structural pin tucks, wire-threaded appliqué, and hand drawn prints. Each piece is created through slow, deliberate making processes to honour the beauty of traditional craftsmanship.



Hero Body
Look 1 is a longline bodice and maxi skirt made from 100% linen fabrics, brushed yarns and wire. The main fabric is a bronze and black woven chambray linen that has a subtle shift when the fabric is moved. A lighter black linen is used in the finishing trims and behind the tactile work. Coloured yarns are woven into the seams and brushed out to create a faux fur texture.












Look 2
Look 2 is a form fitting opera collar jacket with a low waisted wide leg pant. The look has 3 different prints which are variated in different colours and scales. The prints are hand drawn interpretations of the textures on the hero body which have been enhanced with photoshop to create a blur effect. The texture if the colour is made from yarn that has been woven into seams and brushed out to a fur texture.



















Look
3
Look 3 is a printed cropped lapel jacket with a silk linen skirt. The crop jacket print are hand drawn interpretations of the hero body which have been enhanced with photoshop to create a blur effect. The textures of the sleeves are layers of printed fabric that has been pin tucked with a linen silk trim on the end to create a feathered look. The silk skirt has 10 panels with yarn woven into each seam and brushed out to create a fur like texture.












Menswear
Menswear 25 is a oversized mens blazer with an oversized brushed yarn sleeve. The jacket is a deep Bordeaux with a 90% Wool and 10% Nylon fabrication with 2 functional jet pockets. The jacket is styled on a female for the runway with a handmade belt in the same fabrication create an oversized dress silhouette.
