ineage is a profoundly personal collection that channels the designer’s Norwegian and Māori heritage, reflecting the unique cultural blending on a remote island in the southern reaches of Aotearoa (New Zealand). This collection delves into the intricate narratives of identity, belonging, and the union of Pākehā settlers with indigenous Māori, while capturing the rugged textures and hues of the coastline through earthy tones of sand, charcoal gray, sea green, indigo, and sky blue. Celebrating wool’s versatility, each piece features diverse wool derivatives from upcycled suit jacket panels to rich herringbone coating and soft merino jersey creating a tapestry of tradition and modern cross-cultural storytelling.
