URBAN COMMUTERS Paused Motion is a campaign for On The Street’s newest Autumn/ Winter 2021 fashion collection in collaboration with The Woolmark Company. On The Street’s Autumn/ Winter 2021 collection is a new and innovative collection which is adding traditional corporate style into the modern streetstyle. Paused Motion portrays a city filled with emotions, mood and movement. The campaign portrays the idea of walking and waiting in an urban lifestyle, how commuters tend to feel and a way to commute in an eco-friendly way. Paused Motion wants to give awareness about sustainability and showing that sustainable is fashionable. Wool denim garment is used to let commuters commute in a comfortable yet fashionable way.

SUSTAINABILITY

On The Street is a sustainable fashion brand that is considerate of the environment. On The Street only uses natural or recycled fabrics for their products. These fabrics require less chemical treatment and less energy. (Bielawski, 2019) PAUSED MOTION is a campaign made to showcase the newest collection which is made up of cotton denim and wool. The campaign is to engage people to be sustainable and to show that commuters can be involved in the sustainable trend by the way they commute. On The Street created a collection that is affordable and can help make a difference in the environment.

WHY

WOOL DENIM? Wool denim is made up of merino wool and cotton denim fabric. The collection is made up of wool denim as wool denim can be functional and fashionable at the same time. Wool denim increases elasticity without the need to use spandex. The fabric supports sustainability as it is an evergreen fabric and also a biodegradable fibre. Wool denim creates a luxurious silhouette but making sure it’s still very comfortable to wear. Wool is a versatile natural fibre that is easy to renew and is biodegradable. There are a lot of properties and benefits of wool. The main benefit of merino wool is the softness of the wool and the ability to stretch and bend. Wool can absorb more moisture than other materials but also can take away moisture from the skin. Having low surface energy, wool is stain resistant and wool is fire resistant di to the high rate of limiting oxygen index. There are more benefits of wool such as UV absorbent, anti-wrinkle and its durability. There are a lot of reasons to use wool in the production of a fashion garment and is a sustainable way to help the environment.
