Denim has been a staple fabric here at Dior since the 1990s. Our former creative director John Galliano was the first to introduce the fabric to the house when incorporating it into his collections.

Since then denim has become a staple in most collections at Dior whether it be featured as a solo garment or being incorporated into a styling or accessories piece. Galliano has inspired other Dior

designers Including current House director Maria Grazia Chiuri, to continue using denim as a key material in the progression and future of the fashion house, ensuring to adapt the fabric into new and effective ways.

The COLLECTION

D LEGACY Founder and fashion designer Christian Dior will forever be the most honorable and Inspiring directors of Dior, Building a legacy for fashion in December 1946 he set the foundations of the brand’s success.

During Christian Dior’s life the European coast of the French riviera was very close to his heart. With this deep love for the south of France, Monsieur Dior purchased his gorgeous Holiday Château in 1951. Located in the Grasse countryside of Montauroux. Château de La Colle Noire became Diors muse and gave him great inspiration leading up to his tragic death in 1957.

It was in this residence that Dior explored his desire to become an amazing perfumer as well as couturier. He chose the Grasse area to develop future perfumes for Dior due to the incredible scent the flowers expressed.

The Fashion house has since opened its doors to various designers including Maria Grazia Chiuri, to lead the brand and continue his legacy.

Who once was a young Italian girl, aspiring to be a fashion designer, now is the current creative director and glue that keeps the Dior Fashion house together.

Having spent 17 years at Valentino prior to receiving the job as Creative Director of Dior, it is clear that MGC has had the experience and the qualifications necessary to take over such an inspiring and grand house like Dior.

Since being at the house Chiuri has incorporated her passions and beliefs of human qualities and moral attributes into her work.

Her beliefs in Feminism, strive to promote a world of active women, and her love for spiritual and cultural art has become essential In the creation of her collections since taking over for Raf Simmons in 2016.

Maria has evolved the brand in a contemporary way whilst ensuring to revolve new collections around the classic foundations of Christian Dior’s legacy. Her love for the house’s archives has been evident in her work at Dior as she has continued to bring back popular and loved designs from history and reinvented them into current trends and styles.

EUROPEAN ESCAPE Here at Dior our vision was to create a collection that

ensured women would feel confident and radiate positivity when wearing the collection. The capsule was inspired by various coastal towns around Europe. Each piece in the capsule collection was named by one of these inspiring places, selected from the following Countries .

odyssey tied together perfectly with our Brand Ambassador, Jadé Tuncdoruk, Australian born Influencer with a strong European heritage. After working with Jadé for many years we instantly knew her love for travel, fashion, food and culture would be perfect for the campaign theme.

INTRODUCING

TUNCHY Australian Born Influencer/ model, Jadé Tuncdoruk has grown her platform on Instagram to showcase not only her love for fashion but travel and Adventure.

Jadé’s not only known for her modeling career but also for creating an unfiltered/raw account called “The real Jade Tunchy” This side account highlighting her real self and disregarding social norms of being “perfect”.

Jadé’s main account Is her platform she uses as her “business account” Sharing all things fashion, Travel, and collaboration work with brands like Dior. Jadé was chosen as our brand ambassador for the European Escape collection for her contrasting beliefs with our brand.

Her Turkish background and love for the European coasts inspired the Idea to promote travel post lockdown as a way of boosting positivity and hope for those that were stuck at home during 2020-2021.

At Dior we are known for creating a diverse community whilst encouraging success and confidence in the form of art, Jadé’s love for art blends effortlessly with the elegance and femininity of the collections details.

The Dior X Jadé Tunchy collection “European Escape” urges women to boost their confidence and celebrate successful women.

This is truly what connects our brand and Jadé to work so successfully in collaboration.

KEY Shapes AT DIOR The Oblique pattern

Diors Oblique pattern has evolved into one of our signatures here at the fashion house. Although the pattern was created in 1967 by Marc Bohan, former creative director, the pattern wasn’t actually revealed until the Spring/Summer collection in 1969. Firstly appearing on a Haute Couture bag the pattern has since developed into almost every category of the brand.

From Ready to wear, clothing, accessories and footwear to head to toe full collection sets and Haute couture collection pieces, it is evident the pattern is a major symbol at Dior.

BEES The symbol of a bee has held a great part in our history at the fashion house. Quoted by the founder himself, Christian Dior “A small hive full to bursting, that is what my house was when I presented my first collection” the excessively kaotic environment refers to the house as a bee hive producing incredibly special presents to the world. With this idea in mind it is quite common for Dior to incorporate a small bee into a garment or accessory to symbolise the significance and respect of the incredible dress makers here at Dior.
