ABSENCE CREATIVE BIO XANTHE FARDELL

Xanthe Fardell, strives to encompass notions of abnormality throughout her work. The Sydney based Creative Direction student develops a visual language that evokes aspects of her introspective tendencies which are further sculpted through her love for art, music, fashion, and anything vintage. Xanthe’s signature style derives from her familiarity and passion across social and environmental subjects which further helps to express individualistic opinions from the moulded fragments of her work.

“Absence, the state of being away from a place or person.”

Absence for me encapsulates the removal of my mind from a current environment. Aspects of indulgence are carried throughout this absent state of being, as the space that I create is one of my own. Influenced through the surreal bouts of Wes Anderson; an aesthetic so crisp one could question its reality and aspects of Alex Prager’s surreal American reality which saturates the perfections of our imperfections across ranges of environments.

Absence invites a high fashion appropriation of the aesthetic of these spaces in which splashes of vibrant colour encapsulate the conclusive designed space. Through the use of silhouette and thus the absence of the identity of the model, the viewer is invited to create their own reality. Harmonizing to Wes Andersons perfection of detail, absence plays on the conjunction of negative space and an organised set to enrich the viewer into the creative bio that encapsulates my creative mind.
