CI explore the journey of harmonising our inner world with the outer world through my collection, ‘Restrict, Reveal, Release’. I aimed to create a visual representation on the process of emotions. Garments feature the ethically-sourced, sustainable fabric, ZQ premium merino wool and fabric remnants and threads from past projects are repurposed to use as a design detail for stuffing. Each look represnts the different stages of processing emotions. Look 1, moodboard features a high neck top and a mini skirt, representing the idea of unreleased, emotional baggage, that is metaphorically suffocating the individual. Look 2, features a dress with a sense of fluidity, representing the stage where the individual allows themselves to feel what they feel as they begin their journey to self-realisation and self- healing by processing their bottled emotions. Look 3, features a dress with a custom print that further represents the concept of look 2. Look 4, is the ‘Great Release’, it represents the final stage. An explosion of emotions and realisations. Good or bad, dependant on the individual and where their journey took them. PAGE 3 GRACE KIM
