Collingwood

Based in Melbourne, Georgia Bain is an emerging interior designer whose practice is guided by a respect for tradition and a passion for innovation. Her primary interests lie in keeping traditional art and construction techniques alive, weaving them into more contemporary contexts to create designs that are both grounded and forward-looking. Influenced by a love of art, music and design, Georgia approaches interiors as immersive experiences rather than static spaces.

Drawing inspiration from inspiration from sound and rhythm, treating each design like a composition where textures, materials, and light are layered to create certain moods and atmospheres.

CLIENT

HQ Group requires a space where both music and people can truly come to life. They want a venue unlike any other in Melbourne, one that allows guests to curate their own experience. Whether choosing to dance all night or to sit back and relax within immersive light and sound environments, visitors are free to shape their evening as they wish. This venue is more than just a club—it is an experience designed to cater to everyone’s desires. The freedom to move around the space according to mood and energy ensures that there is a place for all. An open bar layout with sunken seating encourages connection and interaction, both with friends and with new faces. Ultimately, Flux provides a safe and dynamic space where the bond between music and people is nurtured. This space answers my formulae question of: How can we create spaces for people to experience, rather than just exist in?
