concept the
DUNES OF DUSK is an encapsulation of the enchanting beauty found in the Arabian deserts and the evocative landscapes of other arid terrains. This translates to a collection that displays a harmonious blend of strength and softness - drawing inspiration from the undulating sand ripples, and the hues of desert sunsets; and using delicate fabrics to achieve this.
The colour palette features rich, warm tones that evoke the feelings of dusk in the desert, embracing shades of deep rust to connect the wearer to nature’s canvas. As the season transitions into Autumn/Winter, the collection reflects Pantone’s palette “forecast of tomato cream and red orange to infuse an inherent richness and earthiness,” (Pantone 2024).
Luxurious Italian wools and silks were selected for their natural properties, with wool standing out as a versatile, sustainable and innovative fibre (Woolmark 2024). This choice allowed for the creation of garments that offer an indulgent, tactile experience.
The Hero Design stands out, communicating utilitarian forms and refined lines through the use of belt buckles, while statement outerwear with texture takes centre stage for Autumn/Winter runways, (Salem, H 2024). Silhouettes with exaggerated shapes pay homage to the strong presence of the desert, while refined corsetry evokes femininity and a connection to the natural world. This blend of detail and texture exemplify modernity and innovation across the collection.
