NEO FUTURE is a five body collection.

Initially inspired by its bright futuristic approach to a very stagnant world of menswear, the collection has evolved to include womenswear, playing with the archetypes seen in gendered clothing. The collection looks into the archetype of underwear as outerwear and explores the contrast of its practical and aesthetic use through history and media. Interest is seen in the overthought details elements and fabrica- The coltions of the garments. lection takes inspiration from the cult classic film ‘The Fifth Fabrications have been Element’, styled and design considered through their by fashion phenom, Jean Paul historical purpose and con- Gualtier, who revolutionised notations, compared to their the fashion industry in the current use. The collection consists of beautifully constructed pieces that have been expertly layered to create complex and interesting visuals.

The garments create a contrast through the proportion of the tight fitting shirts and pants against the largely oversized outerwear garments, this contrast is further emphasised through the futuristic neoprene and faux leathers against the traditional knits. Interest is further brought through the use of 3D embellishments such as the bead heads interwoven with the draped straps.

This is replicated in the 3D illusion head print, in the garments to further convey the creepy, futuristic sci-fi concept that is obvious throughout the entire 5th element film. This almost grotesque imagery is then contrasted by the bright and pastel colour pallet which balances the detailed and embellished garments.

SILHOUETTE HERE LOOKS AT THE OVERSIZED PROPORTIONS, LARGE JACKETS AND SMALL UNDER GARMENTS. THIS TREND OF SILHOUETTE ALSO ANALYSES THE DIFFERENCE IN OVERSIZED GARMENTS BETWEEN MENS AND WOMENS WEAR AND FINDS WHAT ASPECTS OVERLAP TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE GENDERED CLOTHING ARCHETYPE AS TO CREATE GARMENTS THAT CAN BE GENDER NEUTRAL AND WORN BY ANDROGYNOUS BUYERS. THESE CAN BE SEEN IN A CONTEMPORARY TAKE WITH UNDER-LAYERS SUCH AS SKIVVIES BOXERS AND LEG WARMS AND FURTHER DEVELOPED WITH LAYERED SUBVERSIVE BASICS . THE 3D HEAD HAVE BEEN INSPIRED BY SCULPTURAL WEARABLE ART. TEXTURE IS INSPIRED BY THE DISTRESS DETERIORATING FUTURE AESTHETIC FROM THE FIFTH ELEMENT. THIS UNRAVELED KNIT TEXTURE FOCUSES ON HOW THE KNIT HUGS THE BODY AND DRAPES WORKING IN UNISON WITH THE CUT OUTS AND OVER SIZED GARMENTS THROUGHOUT THE COLLECTIONS. THIS TEXTURE HAS ALSO BEEN USED TO CREATE A TRANSPARENT EFFECT IN SOME OF THE GARMENTS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO VIEW THE GARMENTS UNDERNEATH THIS TREND HAS BEEN FEATURE BY SS 2021 EGON LAB, SPRING 2022 MENSWEAR RICK OWENS, FALL 2021 READY-TO-WEAR DION LEE

MONOCHROME HAS BEEN INSPIRED BY THE IDEA OF MATCHING SETS AND TAILORED SUITS. BRINGING IN THE MONOCHROME COLOUR PALLET ALLOWS ME TO PLAY MORE WITH VIBRANT COLOURS LOOKING FOR CONTRAST IN DIFFERENT SHADES OF THE SAME COLOURS . THE MONOCHROMATIC COLOUR PALLET IN MATCHING SETS ALSO ALLOWS FOR A GREATER CONTRAST IN THE DIFFERENT VALUES OF COLOURS MONOCHROME COLOUR PALETTES HAVE BEEN REFERENCED FROM FALL 2021 READY-TO-WEAR VERSACE FALL 2021 READY-TO-WEAR DION LEE SPRING 2021 READY-TO-WEAR OF- WHITE SPRING 2022 MENSWEAR ETRO
