MARIA A NOTE FROM THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR

In such difficult moments, you not only have to be creative and innovative but also change your way of thinking.

We have to think of how we can transmit our values and our heritage to a future that will be completely different.

Like everyone else, I’ve no idea what that future will look like but I know what right now looks like and the Savoir Faire is growing aorund these challenges like a vine in a tree.

In working so closely with Lil Nas X in the ‘take a walk on the wild side’ collection, it brought it light his values and his background.

Coming from Georgia; a land of predominately agriculture and

produce, I felt it important to incorporate his western cowboy heritage into each design.

With this in mind I felt it important to highlight an integral aspect of Montero, that being his wonderful presence in the LGBTQI communities and the disrespects that go hand in hand with being so public with such personal traits, It is not couture that can resolve these issues, but knowledge and education.

Everyone has to understand that they, he or she must be their, his or her own inspiration.

And I present to you ‘Take a walk on the wild side’.

MONTERO LAMAR HILL WALKING WILD, WITH DIOR Montero Lamar Hill, commonly known as, Lil Nas X is a Georgia born Singer/songwriter, gay rights advocate and a vocal black rights ambassador.

In his youth he was one to blend in to fit in as he was scared to express his true self in fears of status quo. As he grew older, he recognised that this was affecting him in all aspects of life, and bound into the glamorous, Atlanta cowboy, he is today.

Parading, head to toe, in his signature, vibrant pink cowboy sets and couture gowns, Lil Nas X has risen to be a face

for bold self identity, individuality and Pride.

Montero’s personal growth is reflected simultaneously into his career, as a billboard recored breaking, vocalist and song writer.

Major hits being Old Town Road, Call Me By Your Name and Rodeo; he provokes a universal sense as the beloved, modern cowboy from the ‘wild west’.

The capsule collection embodies Montero’s unique self style, bold presence and playful nature.

He takes Dior for a walk on the wild side.

Monsieur Christian Dior Christian Dior was born in Granville, France, into a family of 7, in 1905, his parents, Alexandre and Isabelle Dior. His family moved to Paris where Christian spent his days illustrating on the streets of Paris, this blossomed his passion for design.

Christian opened the House Of Dior in December 1946, but the first official collection was not released until 12th February 1947, the following year. His 90 piece collection, an indulgent approach leading to Dior being an overnight success.

Dior revolutionised the female silhouette and brought to life the rise of the New Look, celebrating ultra-femininity and opulence in women’s fashion and his utter dedication to representing the beauty of the female body.

His love for presenting women in their true beauty and ability is reflected in the denim pieces throughout the capsule collection; denim defined as a sturdy fabric for the active, hardworking.
