Brielle-Tayla D’Agostino Brielle-Tayla is a Melbourne-based fashion designer. The driven and ambitious designer is a dynamic and emerging force in the fashion world. With an unwavering passion for crafting stunning and awe-inspiring garments in both men’s and women’s wear, Brielle continues to experiment and have fun with different fabrics, textures, colours, embellishments and silhouettes while studying at Whitehouse Institute of Design. Each design crafted and curated is a testament to her dedication to pushing boundaries and her relentless pursuit of transforming fabric into wearable art that leaves a lasting ‘wow’ impression. Committed to both quality and sustainability, Brielle’s fashion designs are meticulously crafted with high-quality materials, enWsuring longevity and timeless appeal. Inspired by her journey as a young emerging fashion designer, Brielle has poured her heart and soul into creating a collection that takes inspiration from the silhouette and beauty of a butterfly, while eloquently weaves together elements of how she has grown and flourished in her skill set and abilities, and learning what she is capable of when bringing an idea to life. Resulting in a collection that defines a chapter of her own life story. Just like a butterfly growing its wings and coming into its own, Brielle resonates with the metaphor of what the idea of Metamorphosis means.

CONCEPT

etamorphosis is a collection that emerges from the idea of the transformation of a butterfly. The growth a butterfly undergoes as it then transforms into something far greater than it ever imagined. It represents personal growth, strength, and independence.

The ability to go through struggles and excell and grow as a person mentally, physically, and spiritually. The colour palette utilizes light and dark colours while remaining cohesive such as tinted light dusty pinks, silver, as well as tint, tones, and shades of cloudy blue and dark blue, and tints of lilac purple.

The hero look entails a fitted mini blazer dress with a chuncky front zip. Lantern sleeves with giant puffy structured wings on the front, and a large cut out in the back, all in a multi colour dusty pink and silver brocade fabric to embody a butterfly’s silhouette. Diamond embellishments and trims on the front collar and draped on the back which is symbolic to the saying ‘pressure makes diamonds’ correlating to this collections concept. The spin off looks in this collection retain the same idea of the large butterfly-like sillouettes. The second design is an asymmetrical one shoulder mini dress in a blue, silver and lilac floral brocade fabrication. With the butterfly wing silhouette sleeve and giant metal zip in the back. The third design is a fitted strapless asymmetrical mini dress in a blue and silver multi coloured sequin fabric. With a sructured strap off the shoudler. Paired with matching thigh high boots. “The idea behind this collection has a personal significance as it reflects on my life and journey as a designer. I have persevered through all of the struggles I have been dealt and have grown as it has made me a stronger and more resilient person.” – Brielle-Tayla D’Agostino

Just like a butterfly trying to get out of its cocoon, it struggles but otherwise would be weak if it did not do this by itself. The struggle is a necessary an important factor to what makes the butterfly strong. If you think of yourself as a butterfly, locked in your cocoon, your struggle gives you strength and without it, you will not be strong enough for the next phase of your life. “The struggle is your path to freedom, whether you consciously recognize it or not.” – Anas Ebrahem
