Early on Denim wasnt seen much in Dior, this is due to the fact that denims orginal use was for workwear rather than luxury.

Denim was initially introduced into the fashion house by Galliano in the 1990s in a post modern way, seen applied in alternate and post modern ways, Creative director Hedi Slimane introduced some of Diors most famous denim work through Dior Homme.

Here we bring to you, Denim reinvented for her by her.

LEGACY

CHRISTIAN DIOR

Christian Dior, renowned fashion designer known for revolutionising women’s fashion.

In December 1946 he founded his house of Christian Dior showing his first collection in 1947. This year he came out with the pivotal design of the new look. The intent of this design was to empower women coming from Diors obsession with allowing women to rediscover joy, elegance and beauty.

Dior went on to introduce a number of new silhouettes.

ARIA GRAZIA CHIURI

With 25 years of experience in the Fashion industry Maria Grazia Chiuri, an Italian fashion designer born in 1964, Debuted her first collection with Dior at Paris fashion week in September 2016. As the first female to lead the fashion house Chiuri’s direction for the brand includes revisiting the archives while tapping into spirituality through the exploration of tarot cards.

Chiuri was born in Rome, studied fashion and spent three decades working in the city. Her collections since have featured collaborations with global artists and creators. Maria is well known for her strong values that are presented throughout her work, focusing on the importance of feminism and equality.

These qualities and beliefs come from her mother that worked as a seamstress and taught Maria to strive for equality in a world that at the time was predominantly led by men.

Olivia Rodrigo. A young American Actress/singer/songwriter.

With her recent success in the music industry paired with appearances in a number of children’s tv shows Olivia is loved by all and will represent the Dior brand moving forward.

Her personal style portrays a sense of innocence visually whilst her recent work broadcasts feminine rage. This aligns perfectly with our beliefs at Dior and mission as, since its founding, Christian Dior intended to make women feel both beautiful and happy and now carrying on that legacy is Maria Grazia Chiuri who deeply explores feminist themes whilst maintaining the elegance of the fashion house. Olivia continues to inspire young women each day through her lyrics as well as her missionary work, using her platform to better our world.
