TEAM TURKISH

SCULPTURE DESCRIPTION:

In Antiquity, a mythical princess from the Middle East named Europe was kidnapped by Zeus, 2 transformed into a white bull. Europe etymologically means the earth. Europe would thus be one of the figures of the goddess Earth. From their union are born three sons, Minos, Rhadamanthe and Sarpédon whom they build cities. So Europe is the land goddess of sedentary men. According to one belief, the earth turns on the horns of a bull; this is not entirely wrong. It is known that the sedentary life began with agriculture in Mesopotamia located between the Tigris and the Euphrates. The bull was essential for this occupation. Here on the horns of the bull symbolizing the Tiger and the Euphrates Europe turns and will continue to turn.
