With more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease and one in three seniors dying with Alzheimer's (or another form of dementia), one thing is certain: caregivers are not alone. LINO LAKES — Fall Fun is the theme this season at Waldoch Farm, and there are some additions to the 100-year-old family-farmed acreage, including pigs and a barnyard addition. With a $10 admission to the corn maze — which includes
a word search treasure hunt within — guests can enjoy spending time in the corn box as well, a giant sandbox-like area filled with dry kernels of corn. “Take off your shoes and socks and jump right in,” said Doug Joyer, fourthgeneration Waldoch farmer. “It feels amazing on your feet. LINO LAKES — What started out as a small carry-out restaurant 20 years ago has flourished into a family-owned business that provides both a dine-in and carry-out experience. Tony Pounds, Owner of Pizza T, grew up in Lexington. In 1996 Pounds started working as a driver for what was then known as Hometown Pizza & Tacos located in Circle Pines. Three years later, the owner asked him if he would be interested in purchasing the business. At the time, Pounds was running another business, buying and repurposing cars. He was also signed up to start at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in the fall. At the age of 22, he decided to buy the business. “I had my own business and I liked it. It was nice to work on my own and be my own boss,” he said. “I felt like it was an opportunity that might not come along again.” At its previous location, the business was only set up to accommodate take-out business and didn't have any seating for customers. In 2004, the franchise fell apart; the business lost access to all of the recipes and everything changed. The business had to
