Operation No Limits prepares youth to re-enter society BY SHANNON GRANHOLM EDITOR

LINO LAKES — A local nonprofit hopes to chart a path for the success of at-risk youth and make a positive difference in their futures. Operation No Limits began in 2012 and officially became a nonprofit organization in 2013. The organization partners with Pines School and Anoka County and relies on many volunteers.

“I decided that these kids needed more than what they were getting. They come here, they have structure and then they go home. So, they go from 100 percent structure to what you can only imagine what their lives are like outside of here. Typically it is not the best environment; It could be low socio-economic status, drugs, single-parent family, neglect, abuse ...” said Operation No Limits founder and Executive Director Lori Kordell.

The organization’s mission is to enhance the lives of at-risk youth through education, support, encouragement, positive experiences, life and social skill development and advocacy. Typically, the organization sees anywhere from 1,000 to 1,200 youth each year. Operation No limits makes sure the youth have a successful transition back into society, and hopefully prevents them from becoming adult offenders.

Some people get caught, some people don’t, and these kids did,” Kordell said. “No we are not going to fix them, but it’s a drop in the bucket, and we need to provide drops in their buckets.” The organization has many focus SEE OPERATION NO LIMITS, PAGE 13
