HOLIDAY LIGHTS CONTEST: Find out who is in the lead PAGES 8-9
Greetings from
YEAR IN REVIEW As each year comes to an end, it is a tradition of The Citizen to look back at some of the most memorable stories from the year. Although 2020 brought its fair
share of challenges, it wasn’t all bad. Some of the 2020’s highlights included: Zoey the toy poodle being found after 18 months away from home; plans moving along
for the new elementary school in Hugo; new ways to celebrate holidays and special occasions; evolving plans for Lions Park; new businesses moving into town; the
creation of Hugo Diversity Strong, and much more. SEE YEAR IN REVIEW, PAGES 10-13

During the arrest, deputies
located property on the female that did not belong to her. Investigation is ongoing to determine whether the property was stolen. • A suspicious male was reported at 1:01 a.m. Nov. 27 walking around the 4000 block of Empress Way N. and possibly tampering with vehicles. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect. • As seen above, citizens have good reason to report any-

thing at all suspicious. Sometimes the report is well-founded. Sometimes, it is not, as we see below. • A suspicious vehicle with its driver’s side door open at 2:47 a.m. Dec. 26 while parked at a residence in a construction site turned out to belong to the registered owner, who had forgotten to close his door when he arrived home earlier that evening.
