elcome to the 2019 Four Seasons Fun Guide. We’ve expanded our Lakes Area Summer Fun Guide to embrace all four seasons! Our vibrant cities, towns and neighborhoods offer an extensive array of things to do. We’ve included hundreds of them in this guide: Concerts and musicals, snow sports, community celebrations, fine arts exhibits, festivals and parades, cross-country skiing, nature centers, golf, water slides, theater, skateboard parks, farmers markets, county fairs, boat cruises, craft shows, berrypicking, 5K and 10K races, apple orchard tours — we even have a sculpture park and renowned wildlife science center nearby. Check out our expanded community parks section and ‘Nightlife’ page listing nearby breweries and wineries and local venues for live music. New residents will be surprised at all of the recreational opportunities offered locally. Even longtime residents may not be aware of the wealth of activities available in and around our area. Whether you’re a golfer, a leaf-looker, a 5K-dasher, a birdwatcher or a concert-goer, there is something in here for you. (also see “Parks” section of guide) Browns Creek Nature Preserve: Located at the corner of McKusick Road and Neal Avenue in Stillwater. 5.9 mile trail constructed on the former Minnesota Zephyr railroad grade connecting the Gateway Trail in Grant to the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway in Stillwater, and also connects to other local park and trail systems. Trail is generally level and accessible to users of all abilities.
