he province has unveiled its outdoor recreation strategy aimed at coordinating outdoor recreation between stakeholders, Indigenous partners and government ministries. The news was announced May 22 in Kamloops, B.C. The document outlines five goals: inspiring action, investing in growth, delivering experiences, supporting people and protecting what we love. It’s part of the province’s “Look West” plan, which the government says in an explainer is “designed to deliver major projects, create good jobs and strengthen B.C. and Canada’s economic security in the face of economic threats.” Tourism is one of eight sectors under the Look West umbrella.
