ost would agree that Sp’akw’us Feather Park has become a jewel among the many draws to Squamish. It is a place folks of all ages and abilities can enjoy, which is not the case for many of our more extreme treasured landscapes. But while Feather Park is wheelchair accessible, the beach is hard to navigate. Other waterfront locations have found a way for even more people to enjoy the ocean. The 2026 Beach Wheelchair Pilot Program was launched in July 2026 by the City of White Rock in partnership with Naakua Paddle Boards. The program provides three beach wheelchairs that can be used along the beach,

organization that campaigns for inclusion, accessibility, voting participation, and education, donated two of the three beach

wheelchairs available through the program.
