Travel - In Lisbon With Kids

Eat

Este Oeste is a stylish fusion restaurant inside the CCB, the local cultural centre in Belem. It has a nice terrace overlooking the river that’s surrounded by a very safe garden, where the kids can run during their lunch. Este Oeste takes its name from two different inspirations: Japanese Sushi (EsteEst) and Mediterranean cuisine (Oeste-West). I really recommend trying their sushi, as well as their pasta dishes and Burrata appetisers.

Check the amazing Monsanto urban forest and its many mini adventures. Surprise your kids at the big playground and tipis of Parque Recreativo do Alvito or remember to bring a scooter or skate to for the skate park at Keith do Amaral. Prepare yourself a nice picnic or check Greenhouse Café while your kids get entertained at Hello Park.

See

Estufa Fria is a beautiful glass house hiding in the middle of Parque Eduardo VII, where kids can explore and discover amazing tropical plants. Right next to it is the lovely Beca Beca and a playground where kids ca have fun while parents enjoy a coffee. You can also walk to Honest Green or Il Mercato in Amoreiras for lunch.

Out of the Ordinary

To experience the city from another point of you, try Furanai - a vintage sailboat tour with drinks and appetisers served on the deck. Angelo and Tatiana will tell you a lot about Lisbon and its history while you sample an aperitivo. The kids will enjoy the fresh air, and will even be offered the helm for a while. Best experienced in the afternoon or sunset. The luckiest might even see dolphins in the Tejo river!
