Sunil re-elected President of United Federation of Travel Agents Association

Sunil Kumar, Immediate Past President of TAAI, has been re-elected as the President of United Federation of Travel Agents Association (UFTAA ) at the Annual General Assembly (Virtual) held on 29th June, 2021. UFTAA has commenced its important expansion phase with focus on supporting the ‘Rebuilding – Restarting – Reestablishing Travel & Tourism Leadership’ a resolution by UFTAA General Assembly. This is UFTAA’s priority subject, to reach out to its members by partnering with National Associations and Authorities to guide this important transition period that can usher in an early sustainability. In 66 years of UFTAA, a federation that is spread out over 65+ countries, and with a membership of over 25,000 travel companies, UFTAA endeavoured to represent the Travel Agents fraternity, globally in matters relating to IATA; Aviation and Education. With Tourism, as a priority subject in its portfolio, UFTAA’s focus is to help build a stronger global connect for the industry stakeholders. UFTAA’s active role in IATA’s Passenger Agency Program Global Joint Council (PAPGJC) will continue to articulate priority matters in the current evolving market place. UFTAA’s General Assembly unanimously resolved to draw the attention of Governments on ‘Vaccine Equity’ related to uniform policy on the corridor of travel formalities. The introduction of complex procedures by few governments can delay the most required turnaround of Travel & Tourism Industry.

Delegation of tourism representative greets newly appointed Minister

Ahigh level delegation of tourism representatives called on the newly appointed Union Minister of Tourism,Colture and DoNER, G Kishan Reddy for a courtesy call to welcome and congratulate him on his taking over the charge in his office at Transport Bhawan in New Delhi. He assumed the office in the presence of MoS (Tourism) Ajay Bhatt and Shripad Naik and MoS (Culture) and Former Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel. He has taken over as the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture after a Cabinet Reshuffle by Central Government on July 07. The delegation who met the Hon'ble Minister comprised of Nakul Anand, Chairman FAITH, Rajiv Mehra, President IATO and Hony. Secretary FAITH, Jyoti Mayal, President TAAI and Vice Chairman FAITH, P.P. Khanna, President ADTOI and Board Member FAITH and Ravi Gosain, Vice President IATO.

Members of the delegation assured full support to the Hon'ble Minister for revival of tourism and sought similar support from the Hon'ble Minister. Hon'ble Minister assured all his support to the industry.

SITE India to organise maiden edition of ‘Incentive Summit’

In an attempto to encourage and expedite the re-opening of the incentive travel business activities the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) is gearing up to organise the maiden edition of the ‘Incentive Summit’ on July 29th & 30th through virtual mode. Global incentive industry has been invited to collaborate with the members and indian industry stakeholders. While elaborating on the summit, SITE India’s President Nitin Sachdeva says: “Incentive Summit is the flagship event for us which showcases the pivotal elements of ‘Incentive Travel’ through education and the most essential element to do business – networking. The objective of the event is to kickstart preparation for the reopening of the travel, business activities in India and overseas along with meeting with leading brands to rekindle relationships.” “SITE is the only business events association dedicated exclusively to the global incentive travel industry. This summit will help the Indian Incentive Travel industry professional with global speaker line up, networking with peers from across India and an opportunity to meet with exhibitors who will present their offerings,” added Sachdeva.
