Tuesday, August 6 The life, career and death of one of the most beautiful stars of the century, Marilyn Monroe, is featured in pictures and songs. John Boda covers the facts around her strange death and encourages the audience to decide if they believe the official report.

Life Safety/Fire Safety

Friday, August 9 Knowing what to do in the event of a fire is particularly important for older adults. At age 65, people are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires compared to the general population. In the United States and Canada, adults, ages 65 and older, make up about 12 percent of the population and need to take the necessary steps to stay safe.

Friday, August 16 Officer Scott Laverd will share information on the latest Scams and ways to prevent be-coming a victim.

Senior Citizen Day Celebration

Tuesday, August 20 Celebrate Senior Citizens Day with Sandi and Sarge. They perform a variety of ballroom songs and dances such as Foxtrot, Swing, Chacha, Waltz, Salsa, Tango and more. Sandi offers beginner’s ballroom dance instruction.

American Bandstand

Wednesday, August 28 Heather Braoudakis celebrates the early years of American Bandstand. Enjoy music by artists who appeared on the show hosted by Dick Clark. Hear the music of Billy Williams, Perry Como, Patsy Cline, Johnny Mathis and others.

The Music and Influence of Willie Nelson

Friday, August 30 Willie Hugh Nelson is an American singer, songwriter, musician actor, producer, poet and activist. Join Steve Justman as he discusses the influence Willie Nelson has on our music.

Guess WHO’s that Senior?

Monday, September 9 Bring a baby picture, a picture of yourself from high school or any picture of your younger self to Lunch at Pavilion. (Or, bring it to the Police Station and ask for Diana.) Please submit pictures before August 23. The one who correctly identifies the subject in the most pictures wins a prize.

Friday, September 13 Mariachi singer Gabriel Estrada will be here to entertain and celebrate Mexican Independence Day.

Tuesday, October 8 One of the deadliest disasters in American history, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 began on October 8 and was extinguished October 10. Join John Boda as he takes you back in time to this tragic event.

The Great Boodini - Magic Show & Halloween Party Thursday, October 31 It’s time to get out your costumes and celebrate Halloween. “The Great Boodini” will amaze you with his magic and juggling and give you a good laugh or two. We also have our annual Halloween Costume Contest with prizes for the spookiest costume!
