Yoga

NEW Hatha Yoga-Asana:

Go

beyond the mat!

This yoga class will feature a monthly theme and asana sequence that will take you beyond the yoga mat and into your daily life. While moving mindfully in asanas and pondering monthly topics for introspection, you will notice the stories your mind creates and how your behaviors reflect those stories. The pacing of the postures will increase mental and physical flexibility and strength, giving you greater well-being and resilience throughout your day. This class is for anyone who is seeking more depth in their practice and life, and for those who wish to move more slowly and more mindfully in their yoga practice.

Program Goal/objectives:

1. Experience how asanas are practiced within the Hatha yoga system.

2. Focus the mind and become aware of the mind’s activities while practicing.

3. Increase well-being and vitality of the body, helping students start their day more positively, while increasing mental and physical flexibility and strength.

4. Bolster a student’s home practice.

Who should take this class? This class is for any adult who wants a little more from the typical yoga-asana class, and for those who wish to move more slowly and more mindfully in their yoga practice.
