Individual Project

The Spiral’s take on experimental housing focuses on openness and a sense of sequence in space with a subtractive form and subtle level changes respectively.
The project attempts to deconstruct our preexisting notion of privacy as it appears in midrise residential structures by breaking down conventional boundaries between tenants and creating a neighborhoodlike environment.
The units are tessellated on the floor plan in a manner that maximizes an unobstructed panoramic view of the urban horizon for all residents.

Individual Project
Mound Bayou, Mississippi
Mound Bayou is a small community in rural Mississippi that was founded by former slaves as an independent black community. The city wants to remember and preserve its legacy by restoring and ultimately converting the historical Mound Bayou Bank Building into a visitor center and community archive.
As an addition/minor alteration to this vision, students were tasked with designing an art gallery to not only house the wealth of heritage artifacts the city possesses but to celebrate and preserve the rich African American history of the town
This design intends to guide users on a journey through the past and present of Mound Bayou and its people and then usher them into a future with the promise of a bright tomorrow.

Starkville, Mississippi
The Outdoor Adventures Parametric Storage is the revival of a forgotten design-build collaboration between the Mississippi State University School of Architecture and the Sanderson Center that was terminated at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project’s aim was the bring the dreary storage room for the Outdoor Adventures student camping club to life with an interesting design that utilizes CAD conceptualization and CNC milling fabrication techniques.
The end result was an innovative parametric design solution that not only maintained the preexisting storage needs but also increased their maximum equipment capacity space to accommodate growth in inventory as well organized the equipment for optimal functionality within the space.
