Navigating Your Visa Application If you have a valid visa or residence permit for the UK, US, or Canada, it can be used for entry into Anguilla, and no additional visa application is needed.

A visa is only required for nationals or citizens of countries listed as 'Visa Required' on Anguilla's eVisa website: evisa.gov.ai/Countries What Do You Need to Apply?

Submit the following documentation, along with English translations where applicable, via email to evisa@gov.ai, using the Application Number as the subject.

Anguilla Culinary Experience 23 - 26 May A four-day international epicurean festival showcasing the Anguilla’s culinary prowess and drawing on the island's rich history and fresh farm- and sea-to-table ingredients.

Anguilla Day 30 May A ceremony and parade to honour the heroes and heroines of the 1967 Revolution and contributors to social development followed by a 7-hour round-the-island boat race.

Malliouhana Fest TBD A celebration of Anguilla's culture and heritage, fostering pride and education through events like Culture on the Road, Leh We Roam, and Storytelling under the Stars.

19 December in Anguilla, once referred to as "Separation Day" is now "National Heroes and Heroines Day". It commemorates Anguillians' journey to separation, from the Anguilla Revolution in 1967 to the formal separation on 19 December 1980 from the associated state, St.KittsNevis-Anguilla. The renaming of this public holiday honours those who sacrificed and worked valiantly for Anguilla to sever political ties with St Kitts and Nevis.

Directions Season to taste with pepper either (scotch bonnet, cayenne, black pepper, jalapeño or hot pepper that provides your preferred heat) salt and other herbs of choice e.g. oregano and parsley.

1. Drain and rinse canned items, slice in half and lightly chop to get a flaky look.

Look out for these invasive plants!

Invasive plants are those that are not native to Anguilla (introduced on purpose or by accident) and are causing problems to the natural environment, affecting the economy, and/or posing a threat to human health.

The Department of Natural Resources – Environment Unit is currently undertaking a project titled “Protecting Anguilla’s biodiversity by building capacity in invasive plant management”, with funding from Darwin Plus (DPLUS125). There are several invasive plants on island, but our current project focuses on these five species:

Brazilian Jasmine

Madagascar Rubbervine

(Jasminum fluminense)

(Cryptostegia madagascariensis)

This woody vine, planted as an ornamental for its sweet-smelling white flowers, has leaves arranged in threes and produces fleshy dark berries with seeds dispersed by birds.

This ornamental vine is prized for its large pink-purple flowers, but is very fast growing and hard to control. Its fluffy parachute-like seeds are spread by wind, water, and animals.

False Puncture Vine (Tribulus cistoides) This fast-growing ground vine has bright yellow flowers, but its seeds have long prickly spines that attach to animals, tires, shoes, and especially bare feet!

Yerba Porosa (Porophyllum ruderale) This herby plant has blue-green, sometimes purplish, oval leaves with distinctive pores at the margin, hence its name. The seeds resemble dandelions, with parachutes for wind dispersal.

Tropical Bull Nettle (Cnidoscolus urens) This shrub is completely covered in painful stinging spines, from its stems to its seeds. Its white flowers and 5-lobed leaves distinguish it from local relatives Physic nut and Castor. A single touch causes rashes and skin irritation for days, and even the milky sap is allergenic.

Anguilla is the home of the “resilient”!

Despite the lingering effects of several severe economic shocks, Anguilla’s economy demonstrated remarkable progress in 2023.

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank projected a 9.61% increase in real GDP for 2023, with further growth of 6.95% predicted for 2024.

Anguilla’s economy continues to be primarily driven by tourism services. Nonetheless, there has been an increase in construction activity - attributable to ongoing public infrastructure investments, renovations at hotel plants, and residential developments.

Consistent with the decline in global living standards in 2022 and 2023, as costs rose disproportionately to incomes, similar trends have been observed on the local scene. The key factors influencing observed prices in Anguilla were rising costs of commodities, higher oil prices and changes in fiscal policy.

These inflationary pressures have led to average consumer prices in September 2023 being 1.2% higher than the same period in 2022 and 9.30% higher than the same period in 2021 and 2022.

A Consumer Protection Unit will commence operations in 2024 with the first priority to implement price control measures on essential goods.

In addition to safeguarding consumer interest, the role of this Unit is to maintain market fairness and integrity.

It is anticipated that Anguilla’s tourism sector will continue to redeem and surpass its preCOVID-19 levels.

The re-imagined Blowing Point Ferry Terminal, Anguilla’s main port of entry, was officially opened in January 2023. This helped to enhance the island’s tourism product and elevate the traveller’s experience.

In 2024, Anguilla will also realise significant development at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport.

Therefore, the promising future of construction and growing connectivity, facilitated by upgraded air and seaport infrastructure are integral to driving Anguilla’s economic growth in the medium and long term.

Notably, Anguilla made history by enacting the Anguilla Utility Token Offering Act, becoming the first jurisdiction to regulate Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) in 2018. Anguilla, mostly known for its white sand beaches and friendly people, with a small economy heavily dependent on tourism, offshore banking and foreign investment, is today contributing to the global discourse on Artificial Intelligence.

The emergence of the .ai domain in Anguilla has sparked a unique phenomenon, with the two-letter country code now synonymous not only with Anguilla (AI) but also with "Artificial Intelligence" globally. Much like Tuvalu's success with the .tv domain, Anguilla has become the home of the hottest domain suffix, where the confluence of technology and nomenclature has created a lucrative opportunity.

Doing Business in Anguilla Anguilla offers a range of business and investment opportunities, from budding entrepreneurs to world-renowned multinational corporations.

Its political stability, favourable corporate tax regime and warm, friendly business culture make it ideal for operating a business in Anguilla.

Business Licence and Permits Gather essential documents like Personal Identification, Tax Clearance Certificate, Business Plan, and Proof of Anguillian status.

Then, apply for a business licence* with these supporting documents at the Commerce Unit in the Ministry of Economic Development.

Non-Anguillians can also own businesses, with additional requirements such as character reference letters and Police Records. It is important to note that specific industries are reserved for local enterprises.

On 30 August 2023, the Licencing of Business (Reserved Industries) Order was enacted. It outlines industries that are reserved for local enterprises. NonAnguillians requiring a licence would therefore have to obtain approval from the Executive Council and pay five (5) times the base annual fee for the licence.

Depending on the nature of the business, additional documentation, permits and licences may also be needed.

Upon approval, register your business at the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and pay applicable fees. Please note that fees vary, and business licences expire annually on 31 December. *Choose a suitable legal structure and register with the Commercial Registry, where necessary.

Non-Anguillians, employees and self-employed persons, are required to apply for the relevant work permit.

Taxes and Contributions Tax considerations include the Universal Social Levy (USL) and the Goods and Services Tax (GST). The USL, a 6% levy on gross salary, mandates timely remittance. The GST, at 13%, applies to goods and services provided by registered businesses.

Businesses must register for GST if meeting or exceeding an annual threshold of EC$350,000.

Short-term accommodation providers and auctioneers, regardless of thresholds, must register for GST. Employers and self-employed individuals pay Social Security contributions. The contribution rate is currently at 10.5%.
