The Atlin Whisper “Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world.” Margaret Mead

A New Event on the Tarahne? You may have seen the posters about town, but what is it all about?!? It’s an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon aboard the Tarahne and do a unique puzzle. An historic image from Atlin has been restored and coloured and made into a puzzle to be revealed at the event. Each team takes home a puzzle. For those who are competitive, we’ll see who can complete a 500 piece puzzle the fastest! For the rest of us it’s a chance to do a puzzle where there are all those windows, an unbeatable atmosphere and a chance to enjoy some tea and cookies. If we need extra time, we can spill over and enjoy more puzzling time on Sunday.

Call the Museum Thursday – Sunday: 11 – 4 to pay for your team ($60.) and reserve your spot. 250-651-7522

PUBLIC NOTICE Hey, what's that? A public garbage can in front of my house? Yessiree. As of this morning, I'm offering our visitors and residents a place to throw their garbage. I watched from my kitchen window as a woman allowed her dog to take a dump in my parking spot. I was about to "address" the situation when I saw her get out a bright orange poop bag. Good. I thought we were fine. But no, she didn't take it with her; she just threw it aside. THUS, the garbage can that now exists in front of my house. As much as I thought her actions were thoughtless, I had to ask myself, "Where else would she be able to bin it?" None of us like to carry those bags home in our pocket. In Atlin, there are not enough garbage cans to dispose of them. Well, now there's one in front of my house. I implore other people, organizations, and businesses to do the same. Unless you don't mind poop bags and trash in the ditches throughout town. - Carolyn Moore, Discover Atlin

“Summertime is Here” Now, you can feel the harshness of the winter/spring season easing out from where you live. Now, you can feel the sweetness of summertime with more sunshine and warmth you’ve been yearning for. Now, you can get out and about for a stroll just for its pleasure and the joy of meeting neighbors to tip your hat or for a chat. Jeff Salmon
