The Atlin Whisper

“Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world.”

Notes from the Editor

On Friday August 30, Colin Carter saw his wish come true, as 6 boxes of his 1st Book in the Matagam Pagwa Series were delivered to the Atlin Post Office.

Hot off the press, and currently available at the 4th Island Petro and the Atlin Lake Grocery. It will also be available during the various Markets and Fairs at the Atlin Rec Center. For folks in Whitehorse, Colin’s book is available at Mac’s Fireweed and online at http://yukonbooks.com/.

It is scheduled for release in the states later this fall and currently available in many ebook formats at https://books2read.com/Matagam-Pagwa1

Anyone who knew Colin, knew he loved to write when he wasn’t getting firewood with friends, pumping gas or fixing tires. Everyone knew, because he was eager to share with friends and get their feedback.

Folks in Atlin have no doubt read Defender Down and Bleak Realities, the first two stories in Vol 1 of the Matagam Pagwa Series. I have read them many times, through this process of publishing with Connie Taylor of Fathom Publishing.

Editing and Publishing is a process of preparing a manuscript for the Reader. It is a process of fine tuning the text and format, and at the same time preserving the Writer’s Voice.

Colin is telling us something with these stories set in Science Fiction. They are well worth another read.

“When

Do They Get A Turn?” Jeff Salmon

All over the world in places near and far many are fearful about how they are being treated and distraught about the world their children will live in.

They hear. They see. They know About disrespect, About hatred facing them in the world today. They hear. They see. They know About selfishness, About dishonesty flourishing worldwide.

They hear. They see. They know there is diminishing consideration for the value of others.

When do they get a turn at living in a place where compassion and justice are the rule not the exception?
