he Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues welcomes you to the 2021-2022 edition of the The Directory for Older Adults, Individuals with Disabilities, Caregivers. The dedicated members of the Commission invite you to use and share this directory to find services and resources for people living with disability in Anne Arundel County. Whether you or someone you love live with disability or chronic issues, numerous contacts of service providers within this directory can assist both caregivers and individuals living with these conditions.

CODI was established in 1995, and serves to fulfill the mission of promoting and enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities by providing the following: advising county government on the coordination and development of government policies, programs, services and allocation of resources for persons with disabilities, proposing the means to meet the needs of persons with disability, and coordinating with local and county organizations to provide strong virtual supports and programs including coordination with county services targeted to ensure prompt and safe vaccination clinics to individuals with disability.

In October of 2020, the Commission held the first virtual disAbility Awareness Day (DAD) through an expanded Zoom platform, producing and providing an accessible continuation of a long honored annual program that recognizes individuals and businesses for their accomplishments and contributions in the field of disability services. This first ever virtual event marked the 30th anniversary of the signing of the American with Disabilities Act and recognized the disAbility Awareness Day Honoree, Secretary Norman Mineta. Nine other individuals and organizations were also recognized for their work and service to those in Anne Arundel County living with disability.

The Commission is composed of 16 voting members and numerous ex-officio county and state agency representatives involved with disability issues. The Commission meets monthly virtually on the second Tuesday bi-monthly, a total of six times a year.
