Winter arrives early in the Cairngorms, so to brighten those dark evenings Bonfire and Fireworks nights kick the month off in explosive style. Get along to Aviemore, Ballater, Boat of Garten and Kincraig to enjoy the sights and sounds. Christmas preparations creep forward earlier each year and there are lots of craft fairs on to get your Christmas Shopping off to a flying start. Exclusively Highlands at Blair Castle is one of the best places to start. Get the whole family kitted out for the coming ski season at the Cairngorm Ski Club ski sale and then get along to the Ballater Winter Festival at the end of the month to get into the Christmas spirit with ice rink, Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Lights switch on. To fill those long dark evenings get out and enjoy one of many fascinating illustrated talks in the villages around the Park or take in some live music in a cosy pub!
