As we reach the end of the Summer 1 half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our students, staff and families for their continued hard work, commitment and support throughout another busy and successful half term at Wolverhampton Girls’ High School.
This half term has been filled with achievement both inside and outside the classroom Our students have continued to demonstrate resilience, ambition and enthusiasm in all aspects of school life, from academic studies and examinations to sporting events, performances, leadership opportunities and enrichment activities. We are incredibly proud of all that they have accomplished.
To our Year 11 and Year 13 students, we wish you continued success as examinations resume after the break. Your hard work and determination have been commendable, and we are confident that your efforts will be rewarded.
A reminder that Year 11 will be on study leave after half term with the opportunity for extra support from teachers in school with the opt-in revision sessions . Please ensure students sign up.
As we head into the half term holiday, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready for the final half term of the academic year.

April showers do indeed bring May flowers, it would seem - and that apparently goes for our books as well! After a bit of a slower start after coming back from our Easter break in April, our books have been flying off the shelves already this month. Can we keep this pace going, I wonder...
Here are the overall results for May so far:
As of 20th May, we ' ve had 122 books taken out of the Library.
Our most popular book has been The Girl Who Couldn't Lie by Radhika Sanghani.
My Star Library Borrower for the second part of May is Sheza in Paget House! ⭐
As for our eLibrary:
We've had 81 loans so far in May. Can we beat April's record of 102?!
Our most popular eBook has been Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter - our most popular for the entire month of May!
My Star eLibrary Borrower for the second part of May is Jasmeen in Stafford House!⭐
As always, if you or your child has any questions, you can email me at growe@wghs.org.uk or come and visit me in the library.
Happy reading!
Miss Rowe
