The system starts with the PowerHub, a compact and inexpensive power supply capable of charging up to 40 motors on a single power bus. The power bus is created by running a CAT5 cable from one or both of the two RJ-45 ports out to the motor locations of the project.

Cronopower, a Colorado-based startup, has reinvented how to wire for motorized window treatments. They’ve developed the world’s first intelligent charging system for rechargeable battery motors and, with it, a new way to wire for motorized shades. By utilizing a battery motor’s ability to store energy, Cronopower is able to reduce the cost and complexity of traditionally wired installations.

The system allows shade dealers to provide a wired experience at significant cost savings.

The MotorTaps are designed to be compact and can be installed behind cassettes or fascias, inside ceiling pockets or in ceilings or walls without the need for conduit. The manufacturer-specific motor cables from Cronopower are 20.5" long and can be extended using extension cables available from motor manufacturers.

Cronopower is easy and flexible to install. The MotorTaps can be daisy-chained, connected in a star pattern or any other pattern that works for the project.

Because there is no need for home-run wiring, dealers will save significant amounts on wire and labor versus traditionally wired systems.

MotorTaps are connected to the power bus at each motor location.

The MotorTap includes two RJ-45 ports and two motor ports. Motors are connected using manufacturerspecific motor cables. Cronopower offers four motor cables, including three-pin and two-pin 12-volt connections, plus micro USB and USB-C for 5-volt connections.
