Brown Sugar Sage Ginger Paloma (with mocktail) Prep: 10 minutes Cook: 5 minutes To t a l T i m e : 1 5 m i n u t e s Servings: 1 drink
INGREDIENTS Sage Ginger Syrup
DIRECTIONS 1.Simmer water, honey, ginger,
1/4 cup honey or brown sugar
sage, and star anise for 1–2
1 inch fresh ginger sliced
minutes. Remove from heat and
1/3 cup fresh sage leaves
steep for 10 minutes. Refrigerate
1 star anise
syrup in a glass jar for up to 2 weeks.
Paloma
3 ounces (1/3 cup) grapefruit
2.Mix salt and coarse sugar on a
juice
plate. Dip the glass rim in vanilla
2 ounces (1/4 cup) silver tequila
extract, then coat with the salt-
1 tablespoon lime juice
sugar mixture.
1/3 cup sparkling grapefruit
3.Fill the glass with ice. Add
seltzer or ginger beer
grapefruit juice, tequila, lime
pomegranate arils, for serving
juice, and 2–3 tablespoons of
Salted Vanilla Sugar
sage ginger syrup. Stir, top with
2 tablespoons sea salt
seltzer or ginger beer, and
1 tablespoon coarse sugar
garnish with pomegranate and
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
fresh sage.
Mocktail Option: Omit the tequila and add 2 tablespoons each of grapefruit juice and seltzer or ginger beer.
