Remember, if you don’t call from a number listed on your account, the system won’t recognize your location, so please make sure the phone numbers on your account are updated.

Savings Start Here for Manufactured Home Owners

M

anufactured homes come in all shapes and sizes from singlewides to doublewides and even triplewides. Sunlight, seasonal temperature changes and wind can all cause wear and tear on these homes. All mobile homes can benefit from energy efficiency measures – no matter the age.

Infiltration of excess outside air can be a major problem for manufactured homes. Specific problems include deteriorated weather stripping or air leaks where the center seem joins the home together. The best way to correct these problems is to caulk or seal these areas as well as all windows and doors.

When it comes to heating and cooling a mobile home, 70 in the winter and 76 in the summer are reasonable and comfortable temperature settings says Derek Chadwell, Supervisor, Energy & Marketing Services.

Programmable thermostats are also a good idea for people with set schedules who come home and leave at the same time each day.

“If you have a problem with your unit and need to replace it, go with a high efficiency unit – at least a 15 SEER. When replacing HVAC, go ahead and replace the duct work, if possible and make sure it matches the unit you are having installed,” said Chadwell. 85507001

Another thing mobile home owners can do to reduce energy usage is set water heater temperatures to 115 degrees and check for water leaks. It is important to seal any openings or leaks you may find around plumbing fixtures since most plumbing is underneath the home.

If your manufactured home doesn’t have a skirt, adding one can also benefit you. Skirts insulate the floor from cold winter winds and can also protect your plumbing during a hard freeze. They can also help keep animals from damaging floor insulation or duct work underneath.

Planting trees for shading is beneficial for all types of homes, but especially manufactured homes. Positioning the right combination of plants and trees can yield shade, beautify, and unearth energy savings. Strategically planting trees and shrubs around your home is a tried and true way to save. Energy savings gained from shade trees depends on the location and orientation of both the trees and the house. Smart landscaping can generally shave about 25 percent off energy used for cooling and heating.

A few simple landscaping considerations can make a big difference in your home’s comfort and in the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems.

anufactured homes come in all shapes and sizes from singlewides to doublewides and even triplewides. Sunlight, seasonal temperature changes and wind can all cause wear and tear on these homes. All mobile homes can benefit from energy efficiency measures – no matter the age.

Infiltration of excess outside air can be a major problem for manufactured homes. Specific problems include deteriorated weather stripping or air leaks where the center seem joins the home together. Rock the Falls Music Festival Saturday, October 21; 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Falling Waters State Park, Chipley You’ll see lots of music from a variety of groups. The list includes: The Dwellers, Ruff Water, Paw Paw’s Medicine Cabinet & Cypress Spring. Between acts, grab a bite to eat from Papa G’s Hot Dogs & Hog Pound BBQ. A Kid’s Zone will have pony rides/bounce house & a wide variety of craft vendors will show off their skills. Graceville Harvest Day Bike Ride Saturday, October 21; 7 a.m. (registration); 8 a.m. (ride) Graceville The bike ride will offer 3 different routes: for beginners - a 15 mile route; for those wanting a little more exercise, a 26 mile route & for the more experienced rider, a 62 mile route. 37th Annual Graceville Harvest Festival Saturday, October 21; 9 a.m. (entertainment); 10 a.m. (parade) Factory Stores of America, Graceville Parade begins downtown at 10 a.m. Other festival activities will take place a VF Factory Stores. This year's festival includes arts & crafts, food booths, children's activities, entertainment & a car show. The festival boasts one of the largest antique/classic car shows in the area with over 200 entries.

Entertainment includes Walter Wilson, The Amanda Cook Band, The Thompson's, Elvis Tribute Artist, Jerome Jackson & Nashville recording artist, Shane Owens. est Florida Electric recently added some new ways to report power outages. No matter the method you use, we hope you will find it to be convenient and give you peace of mind that your outage has been successfully communicated to our dispatchers.

Here is a breakdown of all the ways you can report a power outage to us: Call Us: 1.844.OUTAGE1 (1.844.688.2431) and follow the prompts.

Remember, if you don’t call from a number listed on your account, the system won’t recognize your location, so please make sure the phone numbers on your account are updated.

Text Us: Text WFEC to 800-342-7400 to sign up. When you need to report an outage, text OUT to 800-342-7400. Text STATUS for any updates, HELP for more info & STOP to unsubscribe. You must have a correct cell phone number listed on your WFEC account for this to work, so update your account information before outages occur. Also, please note that your phone plan’s standard data charges will apply and that your cell phone number must be listed on your account to report outages. To utilize this service, only one cell phone number can be used to text in outages to the system.

Use the Mobile App: Download and log into WFEC’s mobile app and click on the “report an outage” tab. Complete the form and submit.

You must have a user name and password to utilize this option.
