October 2022 EDITORIAL - James Warrener Welcome to this months edition of Terras Times, hitting your inbox just before the biggest match in a while, the FA Cup tie with AFC Wimbledon. It's really hard not to make this match all about the money, but resources are required to get the club back in lane and so the timing is priceless. The manner we got there against H&W will live long in the memory as well! It's not all about the cup though. I conned my wife and kids into a half term break by the seaside enduring 6 hours of motorways and having to take out a bank loan for the accommodation, fuel and inflation hit bags of chips all to see how our league form was shaping up. Sadly the trip coincided with the home defeat to Farnborough and although the result stung it was great to catch up with so many of you and have a chat about all things WFC. My take on that match was that it was hard to win it without much of the ball and lots of other things about time wasting goalkeepers but this is a family newsletter so I will leave those out. It's a well used cliche to say “we are where we are” but very apt in these circumstances. There is no magic wand here and to survive in this league (let alone prosper) it’s going to take a lot of hard work on and off the pitch. I hung around to have a chat with Bobby Wilkinson who was gutted and baffled by what had happened but he has a plan and despite having only one league win as I hit the send button on this document, I hope we get a run going soon. Everyone around the place deserves it from the fans to the players with the coaches in between. Finally for this month, I just wanted to share the image on the right. Despite the result and performance and our league position, there is nowhere like the Bob Lucas Stadium under the lights and we remain really lucky to have it. Tin foil FA cups at the ready for this weekend! James
