May 2022 Like many Terras fans I have done a lot of soul searching over the past few weeks.

Even though it felt like it was coming, I always held out some hope that the team would find a run of wins late season and save themselves. In the end only one win came and that was post relegation. I did still savour the feeling of 5pm on a match day feeling wonderful again and hold on to the notion that we must have that feeling more often in 2022/2023.

After being critical of the approach of some supporters last time I wanted to put that in the past and focus on the brilliant fans we have at Weymouth FC. For the Manager to continually call out the fans for showing a dedication, passion and commitment that belied our league predicament is something that everyone should hold dear, especially those who travel the length of breadth of this island to support the club. Thank you for your devotion to this football club. It is appreciated and I am 100% confident it will see you rewarded with performances and goals.

There is a lot of content in this months newsletter. We have season ticket details for those of you who haven’t yet seen the early bird offer.

I would like to close by saying whilst the men’s first team has been uppermost in many of our thoughts as relegation was confirmed, we are super proud of our Women’s team for their successes and all of the other teams that represent WFC. I was thinking about how to close out with a rallying call, but David Oldfield has cornered the word “collective” as his own and don’t get me started on “Forward Together” but for us to get a really deep and long lasting feel good factor back to the Bob Lucas Stadium, it is going to take us all to achieve it.

Terry Bennett I am sure all WFCSA members will join me in sending condolences to the family and friends of former Chairman Terry Bennett who passed away recently. RIP Terry.

Chairman's Update Hello and welcome to our May edition of the supporters newsletter. After a largely disappointing season came to an end last weekend, the lads signed off with a win, which was a real positive to go into the off season with. There will be lots going on behind the scenes in the next few weeks, with plenty of comings and goings as the club gears up ready for the start of the next campaign. Before then however, there is the small matter of the Youth Tournament, which is taking place over the weekend of 28/29 May. If you are able to, please come down and support the future of this great club.

There is quite a bit to look out for over the coming weeks. Firstly, we will not have Umbro kit next season, so watch out for details coming as soon as we have them. This will mean that for the first time in quite a few seasons, we will be changing all our kits at the same time. We are well aware of the cost impact, please rest assured that we will do all we can to minimise the effect upon fans. You can of course ensure you take full advantage of your memberships 10% shop discount, (terms and conditions apply to the discount, ask in the shop for details), so make sure you keep your membership up to date! Secondly, the 2022-2023 season ticket launch is imminent as I write, so watch out for that and take advantage, if you can, of the early bird discounts on offer. Finally, there is detail in the public domain regards the future vision of the club. We urge you to give us your feedback and attend any meetings that are held over the summer and get your view across. We represent you, the fans of Weymouth FC, so it is vital you convey to us your thoughts and views on all the proposals and plans. It is only going to work if we are all going in the same direction. Membership Update with Ken Willis In the absence of the usual monthly draw Ken has been highlighting other things going on around the club this month.

Weymouth FC Youth Tournament Now the first teams season has ended and, if you want that football fix, there is the Youth 6-a-side tournament at the BLS as below.

Saturday 28th May 2022 AM – Under 7.8,9 Mixed/boys (non competitive) 9am -2pm – KO 9am PM – Girls Only Teams Under 9 (non competitive), 11, 13, and 15(competitive) 2pm-6pm – KO 2pm Sunday 29th May 2022 AM – Under 10, 11, & 12 boys/mixed (competitive)9.30am -1pm KO 9.30am PM – Under 13, 14 and 15 mixed/boys (competitive) 2pm – 6pm KO 2pm A BBQ and a number of other refreshments and activities will be available on both days along with programmes for the day’s events. Please notify spectators/players etc there will be a small charge for car parking.

The Club Shop will be open for part of both days for family membership applications to join the Supporters Association (cost only £10) and for the purchase of club merchandise.

Season Tickets The 2022/2023 early bird tickets are now released and available to purchase from the club office.

There are a number of options available including early discount on junior tickets with a paying adult.
