Boys and Girls Club Outing

King Mackerel Fishing Tournament

The Wexford Yacht Club hosted the Hilton Head Boys and Girls Club for a fun day at Wexford which included cruising the harbour enjoying the sights of Wexford followed by lunch at the Clubhouse. A very special thank you to all the members who volunteered their time and boats for this year’s outing and to the Wexford Culinary team!

September 10th King Mackerels can be caught offshore or inshore, are great sport, good to eat, and perfect for a tournament! Interested participants can sign up with Mark Dryden in the Harbour Center and attend the Captain’s meeting on September 9th at 4:00pm in the Harbour Center. On September 10th, Wexford members are invited to attend the weigh-in beginning at 4:00pm.

Hilton Head Island Circumnavigation

September 15th Weather permitting, the Wexford Yacht Club annual Hilton Head Island Circumnavigation trip is an excellent opportunity to go around the island and be out on the water in the company of other boats and your friends! A Captain’s meeting will be held September 14th to go over details, update the schedule and explain the rafting procedure. Please sign up with Mark Dryden in the Harbour Center if you are interested in participating.

Harbour Seminar Series

Learn to Fish! | September 21st This beginner’s guide to fishing will cover the basics of getting started – equipment and gear, licenses, local fish and more. Moving a Boat Sideways – Docking | October 19th Every boater has encountered it: crowded parking at the fuel dock or some other popular facility. Attend October’s seminar and learn how you can dock like a pro. And guess what? You don’t need thrusters.

Annual Boat Commissioning

October 9th Wexford’s Boat Commissioning is a way of welcoming all the new boats into the harbour. If you have a new boat this year, sign up with Mark Dryden in the Harbour Center to receive your traditional bottle of champagne to smash and celebrate your new boat! Cocktails start at 5:00pm on the docks with dinner following the ceremony. All Wexford members are invited to attend this honored nautical tradition.

Dataw Island Overnight Trip

October 19th - 21st Enjoy a two-and-a-half-hour cruise to Dataw Island, home to a quiet, private club similar to Wexford set three miles off the Intercoastal. The Dataw Island Club has a restaurant on site and there will be a group dinner at the Clubhouse. There will also be an opportunity for golf. For more information or to sign up, contact Al Klein.

Beaufort Overnight Trip

November 9th – 11th From shopping and dining to carriage rides and sightseeing, historic Beaufort is a charming destination and a perfect place for an overnight stay. The trip will have plenty of free time as well as a group dinner (location to be determined by the number of interested members). Please contact Al Klein with questions or to sign up.
