The Dawn Patrols for the win
Sunrise Sessions
The sun is moving up around 4:30 am or thereabouts in the height of summer, and the early mornings are definitely the quietest and arguably the most beautiful times in St Francis Bay.

Walk On The Wold Side
Wildside Walks
It never gets crowded on the wild side, and the FOSTER Nature Reserves are a fantastic place to ramble, stretch your legs, and experience that feeling of the great outdoors.

Restaurants: first in best dressed.
Early Eats
As long as we don’t have a curfew put in place, there are many more hours of sunlight in the height of summer. If you want to go out for a bite to eat and a few drinks, then the first sitting at most restaurants is usually quiet.

Beachbreak perfection and a dog.
Crowdsurfing
It does get busy in the summer, and it doesn’t matter where you go in the area; there will be other surfers around. After our initial lockdown and after having surfing removed, there is still a general feeling of gratitude for surfing.

The Kromme river mouth
River Mouth
The Kromme River mouth is a good escape as well, from the seafront side. When it is open, the ski canal mouth is usually pretty busy over Christmas, but there are way fewer people beach-side of the spit. Walk down from the George road car park or somewhere similar on low tide, and you will find some quiet corners where you least expect it.
