About Us The Blue Ridge Home Builders Association (BRHBA) is a professional trade association organized in 1964 to unite the builder/developer with the allied trade industries, businesses and professions that have interest in the building industry. BRHBA works to consolidate resources and build coalitions that will develop the industry and the community. BRHBA is part of a federation of local home building associations throughout the United States and is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV). The work of the Association is established by a Board of Directors and carried out by member volunteers through our committees. The Board of Directors is a working board and each committee chair is a member of the board. MISSION STATEMENT To serve as the advocate and resource for the area home building industry. Welcome to the 56th Annual Parade of Homes, sponsored by Roy Wheeler Realty Company! You are cordially invited to visit the homes in the Parade, free of charge, during the weekends of October 5th–6th and 12th–13th from noon until 5pm each day. On a pleasant Saturday morning in late August, after the recent break of a several week heatwave I reflect on why I have the privilege to share this note with you. Volunteering for the Blue Ridge Home Builders Association is fulfilling in a variety of ways. I cherish the opportunity to give what I can to this community, enjoy visiting with my industry peers at social events, love both learning from and educating our members and the greater community on industry trends, news and events and most importantly I am proud of the collective efforts on behalf of this association to promote and protect housing affordability from frivolous and poorly conceived legislation, but this is not why I volunteer. Like all volunteers I do it because it’s doing the right thing. Luckily I am surrounded with the big hearts of fellow volunteers who get it and commit to do their part to promote a healthy and sustainable local housing industry. This is good news because the Parade of Homes committee has assembled a fantastic line-up for the 2019 Blue Ridge Home Builders Association’s Parade of Homes. I’m pleased to share that from 19 members we have 36 homes, one neighborhood and four designers/remodel entries across our part of Central Virginia I’M PLEASED TO SHARE with enough variety to satisfy many of this THAT FROM 19 MEMBERS community’s diverse needs. To affect change, my head spins when I think of what I’ve learned, what more I will learn, what this and other organizations are doing, what I and my company are doing and what we can all do together. Whether you do it for affordable housing or something else, thank you for volunteering.
