SWIMMERS “My attention floats between two worlds, blindy seeing the depths of an ocean and the depths of a sky; and these depths blend, they interpretate, and I don’t know where I am or what I am dreaming” Fernando Pessoa 1913
This book has been made with the idea of representing the relationship that swimmers have with water, but it is not just about water as a physical element but also about the ethereal and empyrean of this medium and how water conducts swimmers to dreamlike realities. Water releases gravity and swimming becomes flying. When we jump into water, any negative energies we might be keeping are left at the water’s edge. The solitary act of swimming and the long hours spent semi-submerged induces a deep meditative state of mind, immersed as the swimmer is in a timeless dream of a world under the water.
