

The WestMAC App
General Information

At West Moreton Anglican College (WestMAC) our families have access to our very own WestMAC App. The app complements our Parent Lounge and offers our families timely and reliable access to important College notifications and information areas. The app provides a simple, one step button interface providing quick access to information making it easy to use and navigate. The app is one of the main online applications used by the College to provide the following:
• College Notices & Updates
• Quick Links
• Student Experiences Information and Key Notices
• Access to view College Calendar
• Newsletters
• Absentee Line
This fact sheet has been developed for use on a mobile device. Please note, if you are operating on an alternative device, the display may alter slightly, however, the navigation and access to information remains the same.

Accessing the WestMAC App
The app is free to download and is accessed via your device’s App Store. Simply search for West Moreton Anglican College within your App Store and download the app named WMAC Education.
Once you have downloaded the app from the app store, you will be prompted when you open it for the first time to sign in. Your log in for the WestMAC App is your WestMAC Parent Lounge username and password For this to occur, please ensure you have activated your Parent Lounge account prior to signing in. If you require assistance accessing Parent Lounge, please refer to the WestMAC Parent Lounge Fact Sheet.
Failure to sign into the app with your Parent Lounge details will result in you not having full access and you will not receive all information and notifications. This could result in you missing key College information and notifications.
Navigating the WestMAC App
Each time you access the app, it will open at the home page, as pictured in Figure 1. The homepage automatically updates each time you sign in, ensuring the information displayed and notifications received are current and reliable.
The homepage features a six button interface that leads you directly to key information areas for the College. It also contains a navigation bar at the bottom providing you quick navigation within the app.
Because the app refreshes each time you access it, your notification alerts will refresh also, informing you of new information posts you have received but not yet viewed, since your last visit Notification alerts are clearly identifiable, and present as red dots/circles that sit above the information area they correspond to. General College notices will appear in notifications, located in the bottom navigation bar.
WestMAC App Notices & Information
Homepage
The homepage features six key information areas/buttons, providing access to the following:
• Notices – these are key information alerts that are shared within the College community. They can be written by teachers or administration staff to inform students and families of College events and activities, as well as sharing announcements, reminders and general information communiques.
• Quick Links – by selecting the quick links button you will be provided a list of direct access links to the Parent Lounge, College News, Notices, your student’s timetable and the NEST Dashboard.
• Student Experiences – each student experience area can post updates and messages here for families Each student experience message will display under their respective heading i.e. Sport, Music etc. The heading will only be visible if there is an active alert. This is especially helpful for the College’s before and after school activities, weekend events or sporting commitments, as messages can be released as a priority and families can receive these updates or changes, in a timely and informative manner
• Calendar – this button will take you directly to the College calendar. The calendar display can be changed to view by month, week or day. Each listed event or activity details the title, the time and provides an option to access further information.
• Newsletter – This button will direct you to an online version of the latest school newsletter. Newsletters are released fortnightly. By selecting the hamburger button at the top left of the Newsletter page, you can nominate to subscribe to the newsletter which will provide you an alert each time a new newsletter is released.
• Absentee – selecting this button will provide you a direct link to call the College Absentee Line.
Navigation Bar
The navigation bar rests at the bottom of the homepage and provides instant access to the following:
• Home – by pressing the home icon you will be re-directed straight back to the app homepage.
• Notifications – by selecting the notifications icon you will be directed to a listing of the notifications released on the app for the term. Here you can alternate how you view the list by selecting to see All or Unread. You can also manage your notification alerts by selecting Mark all as read, which will ensure the next time you log into the app, you will only receive an alert against the notification icon if new notices have been received.

• More – by selecting the more icon, you will be directed to a list of quick links and app management settings, including:
o Quicklink to WestMAC Website
o Quicklink to WestMAC Facebook account
o Quicklink to WestMAC Instagram account
o Settings – this is where you can manage the settings for your account
o Information – this provides details regarding the app, the developer and the privacy policy
o Reset app – this function allows you to reset the app, which will assist you if you are experiencing any issues with the app’s function.
Setting Up Notifications within the app
Notifications aren’t all automatically applied within the app. Following your initial log in with your Parent Lounge credentials, select the More icon located within the bottom navigation bar, click on settings, click on notifications, ensure allow push notifications is turned on, click on more notification settings and select how you would like to receive each notification within the app. This will ensure you are accurately set up to receive all notifications.
