general manager’s note Dear Westmoor Members, Happy Spring to you and your families! It is that time of year again.

The daffodils and cherry blossoms are blooming, and we look forward to “Summer Happenings” at The Westmoor Club. Once again, our management team and our family of employees have worked very hard during this off-season to plan a calendar full of wonderful events and activities for you and your families to enjoy. But, what we are most excited to share with you are all of the amazing improvements and additions to our beautiful campus, just waiting for your arrival. Two new Har-Tru tennis courts, four new pickle ball courts, two new employee cottages, and Wellness Center expansion with new state-of-the-art fitness equipment and studios.

We had a very successful recruiting season and I look forward to introducing you to new members of our management team including Tim Lonergan, Food and Beverage Manager, Haley Winkler, Events Manager, Mark Mansur, Grounds Superintendent, and Jeffrey Neuwirth, Belle Captain.

With all of this, the 2022 season promises to be one of the best seasons of all time. I know that I speak for all the ladies and gentlemen at The Westmoor Club, including these new team members, when I say that we look forward to welcoming you back to Nantucket and The Westmoor Club very soon!

Watch the Nantucket Regatta on Belle. Both continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. On Sunday, Belle will be used as the check-in boat for the Opera House Cup. RSVP required.

5:00pm - 8:00pm Take your tastebuds on a journey around the world. Our Street Fair will feature buffet stations from various countries.

MAHJONG Mondays and Thursdays, 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM Mahjong is played in the Vanderbilt Room of the Clubhouse. Everyone is encouraged to bring quarters, dimes and nickels. Most games are $.25 with the highest being $.50. $3 - $5 worth of coins is ample as a start for a summer of play!

Monday’s game is open to all levels of players. Players are willing to teach those who would like to learn the game.

Thursdays are for players who are comfortable playing more competitively.

FAMILY BBQ & LAWN GAMES Mondays, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Each week we will have a special theme at Family BBQ. Gather at Beach Plum for great food and family time.

BINGO will take place every other week. On alternate weeks, lawn games will be played.

KIDS’DINNER & MOVIE NIGHT Wednesdays, 5:30 PM Drop the kids off at the Great Hall where they will be greeted by one of our camp counselors. Kids will be able to order a boxed dinner in advance and enjoy with their friends. Afterwards, we will watch a movie and enjoy popcorn. Movies are rated G or PG. Reservations are required.

Guests are asked to register in advance at the Clubhouse Immediate family members the age of 35 and under, who do not own a home on Nantucket, may use the Club facilities without incurring guest fees. Immediate family members over the age of 35 may utilize the facility for up to two weeks annually with applicable guest charges.

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Wellness Center unattended, with the exception of the Great Hall and squash courts, unless by prior arrangement with the Director of Wellness. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the locker rooms unless accompanied by a parent. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to bring guests.

During the months of July and August, members may only bring guests to the Wellness Center after 11:00am.

Personal trainers, tennis pros, and other instructors outside of The Westmoor Club, may not use the club facilities for lessons or trainings.

Virtual training on the fitness floor is not allowed - in line with our policy of no talking on cell phones.

CAMPS Sports Camp

Ages 6 - 11 Westmoor campers will participate in a range of sports including tennis, croquet, squash, soccer, pickleball and swimming. The concept of teamwork and sportsmanship will be developed, as well as the fundamentals of each sport under the guidance of our accomplished professionals.

This is a terrific program for that well-rounded, intense athlete or child who is eager to be active! We ask that your children attend in white attire. Lunch is included.

Camp Westmoor Ages 3 - 8 Camp Westmoor, run by KECamps, offers children the opportunity to experience a variety of exciting and innovative programs within our safe and beautiful setting. Each week of camp has a true beginning, middle and end. For those campers who cannot commit to a full week of camp, daily enrollment is an option as well. Each week’s schedule consists of a combination of Arts & Crafts, Fun with Foods, Team Building, Super Science Activities, Group Games, a Weekly Community Service Project and Wacky Wednesday theme days. In addition, the club pros provide campers with recreational tennis twice a week. Campers have the opportunity to swim every day. Lunch and snack included.

SWIM TEAM Be part of a competitive and fun swim team. Swimmers of all levels are accepted and encouraged to participate. fishing 101 WESTMOOR 1 Our Southport Center Console 28’ sport fishing boat, Westmoor 1, is equipped with exceptional fishing gear and is available for charter Memorial Day - Columbus Day. Members can reserve Westmoor 1 for half day or full day charters.

Beverages are provided and box lunches available.

KIDS’ FISHING Kids of all ages will love fishing on Westmoor 1 while learning the basics of fishing and boating.

Children under nine years old must be accompanied by an adult.

CLUB FISHING Hit the water on Thursdays from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM for Club Fishing. This trip is for adults only and limited to six individuals. WESTMOOR 1 EXCURSION Take a journey on Westmoor 1 as we explore around the island. We will stop at Great Point to see the seals. If whales are around the island, we will look at them too during this trip. All ages are welcome.

RESERVATIONS There is a three-night minimum (if it includes a Saturday night stay in-season) and five-night maximum booking requirement for stays between June 15th through September 15th, in addition to dates of Club special events and holidays. There is no nightly booking minimum for all other dates. The maximum number of nights in total that members are allowed to stay throughout the peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) shall not exceed 15. No guest of a member shall stay more than seven nights for the year. Member rates are only if the member is staying in the guest room. Pets and smoking are prohibited 30 in all guest rooms.

MADGE III was built in 1929 by the New York Yacht, Launch & Engine Company of Morris Heights, New York for Mr. Lawrence H. Austin of the American Yacht Club, in Rye, New York.

She was constructed of Douglas Fir planking on steam bent white oak frames and is 77 feet overall in length. MADGE III was originally powered with a pair of six cylinder, 100 horse power 20th Century gasoline marine engines and was the prototype for several similar yachts that followed her. During the 1930’s, the yacht changed hands several times. In January of 1996, McMillen Yachts, Inc. purchased the yacht and re-christened her BELLE. Today, BELLE is a proud member of the Westmoor Family, offering elegant cruises around Nantucket Harbor and beyond.
